Exactly one week from today I start my training camp! Time has flown by, I can’t believe it’s already time to be going off for 11 days for the camp. Let me just get it out there…I AM FREAKING OUT AND AM SO NERVOUS! I’ve never used a backpacking backpack, I’m terrified of flying by myself, I’ve never been to Georgia, and I’m going to go nearly two weeks without showering (this part just plain grosses me out! Haha). I have no idea what to expect…is this really happening?! Am I really about to start the training process of the World Race mission trip?! For these past few months it has felt as if I were in a dream. I thought this was all an illusion!

At this training camp I will be:

– Camping out for 11 days.

– I will meet my team that I will be serving with while on the Race.

– I will have the opportunity to learn more about the route I will be on (which countries and ministries I will be involved with).

– I will find out the rest over there!:)

To be honest, I am SO excited for the World Race itself, but am terrified to think about going to training camp. For some reason it’s always been the prep that freaks me out more than the execution. However, it’s usually fear and unknown that brings me nearer to the Lord. It will be amazing to see what the Lord will do at this training camp! I know He will do a work in me there. I know He will cast out fears. These fears of mine help me recognize my lack of surrender to the Lord and remind me to look to Him. I have so much growing to do and I love how the Lord is and will continue to use this race to bring me nearer to Him.

“The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” ~Deuteronomy 31:8
