To my supporters,
There are few times in my life that I can look back and remember exactly what a moment felt like. It’s not that I don’t have an abundance of amazing moments to look back on, because there are more than I could ever deserve… but I can’t recall how they felt. What words came to mind, how quickly tears sprang in my eyes or even what chair I almost fell out of.
But this is different.
Getting an email or taking a glance at my account page. Receiving a check in the mail or a card with cash stuffed inside. Hearing your friend tell you what she’s going to sacrifice to make a monthly contribution or seeing the name field filled out as “anonymous”. Reading the 2 most beautiful words, fully funded, for the 100th time because it doesn’t seem real. These moments are engraved on my heart and in my mind forever.
I will never forget them.
I cannot believe that you would find me worthy of the money you work so hard for. I cannot fathom the obedience you are showing to God by sharing what you have with another person. I certainly cannot say I know how it feels to invest in someone that you might not even know personally… how selfless it is to choose “anonymous” over your own name for the credit of your contribution.
What I do know is this:
I know what thankful feels like.
Because of you, I know the way it feels to break down for the 3rd time in a week as more money comes spilling into your fundraising account. I know the powerful effect of feeling humbled at something you doubted would be accomplished. I know the exact beautiful moment when you make peace with the fact that you could never repay what’s been given to you. I have firsthand experience of needing a written list of names in front of you as you thank God for them, because there are just too many to remember.
I am forever changed.
I am delirious and ecstatic and overwhelmed. I am empowered and humbled and wrecked in the best way. I am downright floored by your generosity.
There will never be words to adequately describe my thanks to you. All I can tell you today, is that now more than ever, I know God has called me to this mission. I know that your dollars are gifts sent from His hands and I will dedicate every breath, minute and fiber of my being to serve Him. Giving to this mission is much more than giving to me, your gifts are investments in eternity and they will be richly rewarded in Heaven.
Your support is the most beautifully tangible example of Christ’s love that I have ever been blessed to witness.
