Tonight concludes 8 blissful days of training camp in good ol’ Georgia. Here’s a little taste of what it’s been like…

You know you’re at the WR training camp if…

1. You save some shampoo for the daddy long legs chillin in the shower with you.
2. Sleeping in a tent is like a night in the Ritz-Carlton.
3. Lentils and rice are considered a flavorful meal.
4. You apologize for showering.
5. You wake up at 7 am to play musical chairs.
6. You find yourself spicing up conversations with things like “the conversation”, “at the end of the day”, or ” and I get it”
7. You cheer and get candy when your squad mate is throwing up blue.
8. You rejoice over campfire smell because it negates the body odor.
9. A trip to Starbucks is like a ticket to Disney World
10. You get to spend 8 days with 200 people you’ve never met and already feel like they’re family.

But seriously, without giving away the details, training camp is amazing! For me, it canceled out any fears that I had. It affirmed that I can push myself and do things I never thought I would. It showed me how beautiful all people are (even without showering…) both inside and out. It allowed me to lay down comforts that I’m accustomed to, and maybe even thought I was entitled to, in order to get to the heart of what is really important. It also taught me what to expect, what not to expect, and how the heck to pack for a whole year J

All I can say in summary is God indwells the praise of His people. And there is nothing quite like being with 200 of them whose hearts all say the same thing….this can’t be all. There’s something more.
“I am royalty. I have destiny. I have been set free. I’m gonna shake history.”
