What is true beauty?

With all that the world throws at us about what beauty is.. How do we know that we are beautiful? Magazines and media throw images and ideas of what their version of beauty is in our face daily. Our true idea of beauty is clouded by what we are told we should look like.
What if we all just took a step back from the magazines and the tv shows and thought about what true beauty really is. Or better yet … what if you just rested in the fact that the creator of the universe is enthralled by your beauty. He made us perfect and unique in our own way, he tells us that there is no flaw in us. He made us in His image and because of that alone we are beautiful.

I asked my team to do a photo shoot with me for team time the other day and just write down why we think that we are beautiful. What is it about us that we can’t help but praise God about!
I think that my team is beautiful because each and everyone of us is a daughter of the King. We live out His love daily, and radiate His light. We each as daughters of Christ bring different qualities to the table and that alone is beautiful. God made us all in His image, we were each made with a purpose for His kingdom. We are all different, each unique and amazing in our own way. But because we are His creation, His masterpieces, His daughters.. We are beautiful!

To me Beauty is not a magazine cover model, flawless skin, or the perfect body.

Beauty is the joy from Him that reaches down into my soul and that is unshakeable.

Beauty is walking confidently in His truth and boldness.

Beauty is coming to the realization that He loves me because He loves me because He loves me.

Beautiful.
I am beautiful.
There is nothing that can happen to me that would change the beauty that radiates from the very core of my being. I am beautiful because He who lives in me is beautiful. His name is Jesus and He is the most beautiful thing in my life.

Beauty is fearing the Lord. It is the radiant light that oozes out of the pores of those who walk confidently in Truth. It is the fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. True beauty is completely countercultural because it portrays the attributes of our Father and King. He is beautiful. As His daughter I was made in HIs image. So the truth is… I .AM. BEAUTIFUL.

I am made in the very image of my God and Father. With care and creativity, He knit me together and formed me into His image and I carry His presence. He intentionally and magnificently made me the way I am, without fault or flaw, for His purpose and for His glory. I am beautiful because I am His.

I feel most beautiful when glorifying His name is the only thing on my mind. I am most beautiful when I accept His freedom and believe the chains of sin have no hold on me. I know I am beautiful because I recognize all my qualities-good or bad, weak or strong, small or big- as unique gifts entrusted to me by the Father for a purpose too great for my own understanding.

Ariane

Dear Father,
Thank you for creating me with a spark inside my soul for you. A spark that has slowly grown into an inferno for Christ. An inferno that radiates from me in ways I cannot see but others are drawn to. A blazing fire that causes me to glow in ways that people question and want.

Thank you for showing me that my love for you makes me so incredibly beautiful. A beauty that isn’t defined by society but instead goes against everything society stands for. Thank you for making me beautiful in a way that is eternal and will never fade with time. A beauty that isn’t defined by weight, size, hair, facial features, clothes, or actions – things that change and are conditional.

But instead, thank you for making me beautiful in a way that will last for eternity and was given freely. Without starving myself, hating myself, dying my hair, buying more clothes or acting a certain way to gain that beauty. It was freely given when I accepted that your love was not conditional but also freely given.

Thank you for making me beautiful in the way I stand out by charging in the opposite direction of the crowd, by the way I live my life for you.

Love always,
Your daughter Ariane

I am beautiful because..
In Him I am a new creation.
I am made in the image of my Father and He created me with a purpose.
He knit me together uniquely and intentionally.
I find my joy and my satisfaction in Him
every quality that I have is a gift from Him.
I am beautiful because Christ in me is beautiful.
I am beautiful because I am His.
