Change is hard.
As any racer knows the biggest thing when going out on the race is the willingness to grow and change.. and change is something that is inevitable.
Your route changes.
Your heart changes.
Your relationship with Christ changes.
Your “norms” change.
and your team will eventually change.
From the very start I was incredibly blessed to be apart of the team that I had, we loved well, we had fun together and we fought for each other. We had a joy from the very start which had everything to do with our name (Xuberant Joy).
Going into month four we all knew what was looming at the end… team changes. We agreed as a whole to just look past that detail and just throughly enjoy each other just like it was any other month.. and what a month it was!
We got to our mini debrief in Malaysia and the inevitable did happen but if its like anything else Ive learned on the race.. change is hard, but it is always good.
My team leader Hanna Taylor was raised up to be a squad leader along with my teammate Sam Kirby. While it is hard to not be sad about the changes, there is an excitement and a joy that overcomes that! The things that I learned from these two ladies makes me so excited for them to be apart of the leadership dynamic! These women along with Jena Foster will become our new squad leaders when our current ones have to leave us at the end of this month. I am so beyond excited to see how God works in them as they begin this new journey, and am so proud of them for taking the step of faith and trusting what the Lord has for them in this!
