I will be the first to admit or tell anyone that I am more than spoiled. I have everything I could want or need and then some. Yet you always find yourself looking at something new and pining after it or in my case just buying it for yourself because why not if you can? Coming into this journey of the world race I knew that some of my hardest battles were going to be giving up my “stuff”. And that just it…its all just stuff!!! and even better than that its not even mine! Its Gods! Everything that I supposedly cherish and have to have I am more than sure I can live without. Today I finally did the dreaded task of dwindling down my wardrobe and as I was taking things off hangers and contemplating whether I should keep it or throw towards my sale pile all I could keep thinking was why do you need this when you haven’t worn it in years. I have to learn the difference between my needs and what God will provide for me and my wants. I am going to live for 11 months out of a backpack with a total of like 5 or 6 outfits. That is it! Why do I NEED a closet full of clothes that just sits there when there are people out there who only have what is on their backs? Needless to say tonight as I opened my Bible up to do my devotion what do you know it was titled Do Not Worry. I read Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink;or about your body, what will you wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? see how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you–you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, “what shall we eat?or what shall we drink?or what shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father kows that you need them. But seek first his kingdowm and righteousness, and all of these things wll be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, or tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Well holy eye opener!! God is going to provide what I need! I do not have to worry about needing anything! “Cast your cares on the  Lord and He will sutain you” Psalm 55:22 I cannot live my life with all the burdens and responsibility on my shoulders. He knows we cannot carry all of the burden thats why He gave us the solution. My part= Cast my cares/worries on Him. His part= He will sustain me. What a beautiful feeling. A life of no worries or cares and a God so loving and willing to provide everything that you could possible need to live this life He has given us!
