First off, I strongly believe that I’m the tallest man that most of these villages have seen.

We have been in India for about a week and what a week its been!

Ok, here is a normal day for our team here:

  • 6 A.M. Run (after much begging to our contact)

  • Quickly go back to bed

  • Wake at 8 for breakfast (bread and jelly)

  • All morning is free to nap or read or do anything really just as long as you don’t go outside the walls.

  • Lunch is about 3 in the afternoon (TONS of rice and curry and yummy)

  • A little bit more free time until we pack into a car to go to villages at about 5

  • From 5-10 we go visit villages, have house visits, pray for requests, preach, worship, worship, and more worship (thankfully we have two guitars and a drum. I’ve heard that some of the other teams don’t even have that and just sing about 6 songs each night and clap their hands. Troopers.)

  • eat dinner at the village and get stared at as we eat

  • Head back home packed in a little car

  • have team time or feedback or just head right to bed and do it again the next day.

India has been amazing so far. I’ve seen God work in so many ways. We have an amazing contact and an amazing place to stay this month. I’ve recently located a store that sells Snickers (woooo!!) We were just given a huge supply of toilet paper. Thats a huge blessing in a country that replaces Charmin with their left hand. Yeah… so we eat, pray, love, wave, and do anything with our right hands only. One time I ate with my left hand at home and was quickly told to stop. Confused, I just smiled and switched. Thank God I grew up in the states and have toilet paper. Sheesh. MONKEYS everywhere! (I’m actually pretty afraid of them. Don’t tell the girls on my team.)

Internet is a struggle. I made a funny video of our first day here and started uploading it last night at 2:30 am (why was I awake? Who knows) and went to bed. This morning at 6 for our run I checked it- %18…. yeah… so the videos might take a while to work out. Its trying its hardest to get uploaded and youll have it right when it hits youtube. We have little internet sticks that have “3G” kind of. They work well enough for emails and facebook. I guess thats all a world racer needs. I, of course, would like more. I opted in for the unlimited plan for the month and hopefully that will result in some videos for yall to watch before I get to nepal. I sure do miss wifi- I could do all of this on my ipod in a matter of minutes. I thought about pawning my computer last month- sure glad I didn’t now!

Sleeping on a pad on the floor in a room with the rest of the team. The first night we slept in our tents outside and it was awesome. But our contacts said “what would people say if you had guests who traveled from far to stay with you and you kept them outside like animals” so we quickly were placed inside a room on top of each other and told to sleep in it instead of outside in our tents and hammocks… hahah gotta love different cultures!

Love yall! Send me some encouraging emails or some funny ones!
