Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you happy and well! I am excited to update you on what the LORD has been doing in my life these past few years as well request your prayers and support as I share with you an opportunity that is before me this next year. College has been a wonderful experience and I could not be more thankful for the friendships and the memories I have made. The LORD has been abundantly good to me and has graciously given me the opportunity to minister to girls through Winshape Camps, the Wesley Foundation, and Watkinsville First Baptist Church. College has also been filled with personal growth in my walk with the LORD. As each day passes, I fall more in love with Jesus. The more I realize how incredible the Gospel is and how desperately I need Jesus, the more I realize how important it is to share Jesus with others.
I will be graduating from the University of Georgia in May with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Originally, I was planning on going to Occupational Therapy School in the fall, and while I am still interested in pursuing that, the LORD has led me to something completely different for this next year of my life. This September, I have been accepted to serve as a missionary through an organization, Adventures in Missions (AIM), on the World Race. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. The countries I will tentatively be going to are Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it is not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I will face many challenges during my year of mission work, but as I prepare for my departure this fall, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in September 2015, I need to raise $16,287. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the LORD, I am writing to you to ask for your prayer support as I prepare for this mission opportunity during the upcoming year. Also, if you feel led, it would be wonderful to have your financial support. I am trusting that the LORD will provide and my prayer is that He will do that through you and other believers who share and want to partner in spreading the Gospel to the nations!
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. If you decide to partner with me financially, please make checks payable to “Adventures In Missions” and please write “Hallie Canada” in the memo line of the check to ensure it is credited toward my support.
If you would prefer to make your donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog site at: www.halliecanada.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side. This blog will also be my main means of communication, providing you with weekly updates about my adventures and what God is doing around the world. I hope you will follow me on my blog throughout the year and keep me in your prayers as I share what the LORD is doing.
I am extremely excited about what the LORD has laid before me this next year of my life to further His kingdom by taking the love of Jesus to the ends of Earth. May God bless you as you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this adventure.
Yours in Christ,
Hallie Canada
