Life has been busy here in Wiang Pa Pao, Thailand! Every day here is so sweet and I refuse to take even a second of it for granted. We’ve been teaching English to the kids and staff, helping clean, helping get ready for camp, and much more. We’ve also been spending time trying to get rid of lice among the girls at the orphanage. They’ve been dealing with it for over a year now, and they can’t seem to get rid of it, so we decided to see what we could do. After some home remedy research, we bought out every 7/11 and local grocery store of their mayonnaise.

My team and I had all the girls come to the orphanage’s pavilion where we set up chairs for them to sit while we picked the lice out and massaged mayonnaise into their hair. Something so simple turned into something so sweet. They were all so appreciative to have that one-on-one attention that has been deprived from them. Many of them came back and wanted us to do it again, even after the lice was long gone. And that’s when it hit me.

I’ve so often looked at ministry as evangelizing in the streets on foreign soil or telling someone about Jesus for the very first time. But ministry is so much more than that. Ministry is not always one big, grand gesture. It’s embracing the language barrier and repeating the same Thai phrases and broken English over and over. It’s giving endless goodnight hugs and kisses to kids who have never gotten that from a parent of their own. And sometimes, its picking lice and massaging mayonnaise into 40 little heads. If Christ’s love has no limits, then neither will mine.

Prayer Requests!!!

1. A few girls from my team went to the hospital and will be spending a few days to a week there. Pray for healing and knowledge among the doctors to treat them!

2. We have camp coming up next week. About 100 kids from the mountains and hill tribes will be coming to learn about Jesus. Pray for strength and energy that week as it will be a busy one and for the kids to have open hearts coming in!

That’s all for now! We can always use any and all prayers, but those are a few specific ones. I cannot believe it’s already April and I will be home in about a month!
