well a crazy amount has happened since you last heard from me so I think this will just be a blog to get you guys up to date about what has happened so far.
Before Gap L left Peru we got team changes. The process lasted about two weeks and it was hard. I didn’t want to leave the team that I had been with for 6 months that had poured into me and I them. We were given a week to process the fact that we were getting a new team and that we were leaving our first. Then when the week was up we were handed a list with our new team on it. My new team is Selah and we are a Co-Ed team. I tell the Lord he is crazy everyday for putting me on a team with men but I’m excited to learn an grow from them. The cool people on my new team are Kaitie Meeks, Jacob Purroy, Kyleigh Holcomb, Connor Quick, Justus Hyde, and Colby Field!
After this we went to Ecuador for a thing called the Awakening. This is were three squads and hosts in that area get together to worship and refill each other up. It was really cool how the lord worked in all those people that weekend.
Then it was time to travel to India. We had a layover in America in probably the coldest place right now, Chicago. It was our first time to the day in 7 months since we left america at launch that we made our way back. I couldn’t wait to smell freedom again and be able to speak the same language as the person standing next to me. The only places I wanted to go were the Post Office, Target, and good ol’ Chick-ful-a. I got to go to these place including a couple others like Panera, Good Will, Deep Dish Pizza, and of course The Bean. I ain’t going to lie I almost had a mental breakdown while in Good Will and Target, while they are some of my favorite places in America, we do this thing were we have options upon options in our stores. While this can be a great thing it was terrible when trying to find peanut butter and medicine to pack back into my bag for traveling.
When Gap L made it to India we quickly realized that we weren’t in the typical part of India that everybody imagines. We are in Imphal, India which is located in like the very very eastern part of India which touches Nepal and China and a couple other countries. Even though India is part of the asian countries typically thats not how you view India. However, the part we are in is definitely more asian then the other parts. Hope that makes sense.
We are with Bibles for the world ministry, and we have been doing something different each week that we have been here. The first week we helped out with project cure at the hospital that is connected to our ministry here. We did a week long medical camp to give free check-ups to the locals here. It was pretty cool although I was sick for the majority of it, but i’m better now so thats good. We are in our second week here and we are splitting up as teams and doing different things each day like going to the school, helping build a new church, and going to a rehab center for men the have addiction problems.
This up and coming week is the parent vision trip here and I am beyond excited to see my mom and dad. They actually left this past Saturday to start their travels to see me and they are currently in New Deli being tourist there. My dad has come down with something and is currently sick though so I ask that you pray that he gets better before he this Saturday which is when PVT starts. I would also love it if you could pray for just our week together doing ministry that it goes over well not just for me and my parents but for all the other parents that have chosen to come be apart of the childs WR trip. thanks so much.
