…with my family for a couple of years. This was my last Christmas in the US until 2020. Bittersweet. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry a few times Christmas Day knowing I won’t be here next year. I’m so thankful for the past few days I’ve had to be with family. But I’m even more thankful for the Reason I’m even writing this in the first place. Jesus. He is the reason why we get to have hope and joy and celebrate this season. I know I’m going to miss my family a little extra on Christmas next year, but I’ll get to create new memories with my world race family. Things will be different next Christmas, but we get to worship Jesus who won’t be different. Jesus is the same this year as He will be next year and as He will be a hundred years from now. I hope this holiday (and all the time) that you find rest and confidence in Jesus who is the real reason for the season.
Also, I am officially 12% funded for my trip!!! Thank you SO MUCH to all family, friends, and strangers who have supported me. I absolutely cannot do this alone, and it’s through you all (and the grace of God) that I’m getting to even do this in the first place!
Merry Christmas, happy (belated) birthday Jesus, and thank you to everyone who has been praying for me and supporting me on this journey!
With love,
Hals
