After 3 plane rides, 11 hours of delayed flights, a 5 star hotel, 3 continents, 7 airplane movies, 3 busses and a bad case of jet lag, my squad and I made it to South Africa! This month we’re in Malealea Village, Lesotho with a ministry called Africa 4 Jesus. Nestled in the mountaintops, we spend each day doing house visits in a specific village in the area. This month’s ministry has looked a lot different than months past and the evangelism, prayer and hands on support my team has been able to provide has been incredibly humbling. I’ll talk more in depth about these experiences next week but for this blog I want to talk about a hot topic on my squad currently: Fundraising.

Because of the incredible support of my friends and family, and the grace of a mighty God, I was able to begin my Race being fully funded! It’s been a gift to not have to worry about fundraising on the field but that doesn’t mean fundraising is over – with the final deadline to be fully funded fast approaching, 3 out of the 6 of my teammates still have money to raise. So how can you support me? Read a bit about these three incredible women, check out their blogs and prayerfully consider supporting them financially!

Tessa brings so much joy to our team! She has a heart that yearns to draw others near and hospitality is in her bones. She is so genuine with every relationship in her life and watching her grow over these past four months has been inspiring. She has the most infectious smile and laugh and loves the Bachelor.
She has just $1,700 left to fundraise before January 31st AND if she reaches this goal?! She may or may not spend a night in the long drop (our beautifully cemented porta potty)

Elyssa is one of the smartest people I’ve met and is so generous with the way she shares her wisdom. She has a passion for knowledge and strives for even more wisdom in a manner I’ve only dreamt about. Plus, watching Elyssa dance is like watching a dream unfold in front of your eyes! To help Elyssa reach her goal of $18,017 check out her page, dive into her eloquent writing and consider donating to her Race!

Shea has a soul that cares so deeply for those around her. At every ministry we’ve been to, Shea’s been the one to seek out our hosts, the locals and the people we’re serving. By day two of each month, Shea knows the name of every person we’re introduced to and they all know her! She naturally draws people in. She loves to ask deep questions and pushes all of us individually and as a team to grow beyond what we think is possible. Check out Shea’s page to see how you can support her journey!

Thank you for taking the time to read about just a few of the amazing, God-fearing women I’ve been walking alongside these past four months. Flames to Fire, our fierce team of six, has become a family and it’s clear that each one of us is supposed to be here.

Prayerfully considering supporting our two Alumni squad leaders, Audrey and Soto, who have sacrificed their time mentoring us throughout the first half of the Race: audreykeith.theworldrace.org and ashleysoto.theworldrace.org.

Africa updates will come as WiFi continues to be sought out but in the mean time, thank you for all the support that got me here. I am humbled by the confidence that everyone has in God’s plan for me in this season of life.

Mom and Dad, I’m safe in Africa!!
