Here it is, the question of all questions, the question I was asked before I even left on the the World Race, the question I have been asked my teammates, squadmates, leadership, friends and family back home…
What are your plans for after the Race?
Had you asked me this question before the race or during the first 7 months, I would have told you I would most likely end up back in Colorado. It wasn’t until the end of Month 7 when I even thought about doing something else, and even when it was presented, I still really wanted to go to Colorado.
I prayed to God about my future and He didn’t call me one way or the other, which I think was one of the hardest and most frustrating things. However, He told me He trusted me with this decision and He would bless whatever decision I made. After flipping back and forth between decisions for a while, I finally gave myself a deadline, so…
I am SQUAD LEADING this fall with the World Race.
What’s a squad leader? During the first five months of the Race, each squad has a couple of alumni who are their squad leaders. These leaders spend their time investing in the people on the squad. I will still be going to different ministries, but my main ministry are my people.
So, I am leaving at the beginning of October and will be in the field for 5 months with another squad of awesome people. God is good and has already showed so much blessing in this decision and has given me the opportunity to have Jeremy as my squad mentor again, and I will have a good friend from my squad, Emily, as a fellow squad leader. I will be traveling to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, and Zimbabwe.
I never thought these would be my plans after the Race, but I am so excited to see what God is going to do in my life and what He is going to show me through my squad. What I am asking of you is continued prayer! Please continue to pray for me as I finish my Race right now that I would stay present exactly where I am. Pray for the 2 months I will be spending in the States; I plan on seeing as many friends and family as possible. Please pray this will be a time of reconnecting, but also preparing my heart for the next World Race squad I will be leaving with. Finally, please pray for my trip leaving in October.
I will need to raise $6500, which will cover everything for the 5 months as well as my trips back out into the field for debriefs to meet up with my squad again. If you feel lead to give, you can give the same way you gave before. You might have noticed my fundraising bar at the top of this page is now empty (scary!), however the Lord promised to bless me throughout this entire process. Once again, these gifts will be tax deductible. On top of the $6500, I have a strong need for personal money. Being gone with no income for the last 11 months, I do not have hardly any personal money. I will be needing to buy necessities for my next trip such as contacts as well as paying for everything the 2 months I will be home and have some money for my trip.
I cannot wait to see all of you who have continually supported me through prayer, messages, letters written, and financially over the last 10 months! The time I am home will be a busy time, but such a sweet time to be with all the people I love! See you NEXT MONTH!!! (That’s crazy to say!)
