I asked God to give me His heart for the people of Thessaloniki, Greece. He answered that request in a huge way.
I went out with a partner and we prayed over people. When we would approach them and ask if they wanted prayer for anything we got a few different responses. One person said “This is crazy.” A lot of people asked “Why do you want to pray for me?” Most of them asked this to me to which I responded “God loves you, Jesus loves you, so I want to show love to you as well.” One guy just said no and he asked what are you and we said Christian and then he asked us where we were from and we said America. To which he said “No, no I don’t want anything to do with Americans or Christians.” That right there made me stop and wonder what American Christians ever did to him. A few others just said “No” and kept walking.
During this time my heart started breaking for the people. I hated hearing the words no and why. Not because of the rejection but because of the fact that they have never experienced the love of Christians who just want to love on them how Jesus would have! My heart is broken for these people and my prayer for them is that they would one day realize just how much God loves them!
