I went to pass out Bibles and I thought I would get to talk to every single home we left a bible at. However, we were told that we would just leave them at the fence if they were not out and I was kinda discouraged about that and so I prayed. I asked God for conversations that they would be fruitful and glorifying to Him. That’s when we spotted an older lady.
As we approached her and gave her a Bible she started crying. We found out that she had just lost her husband 3 months ago and that she didn’t want to live anymore. I got to pray over her for peace and comfort and then I saw her kissing her bible over and over again. We walked a few feet and spotted an old man sitting on a bench.
When we approached this man and gave him a Bible he told us he was blind so he couldn’t read it. He proceeded to tell us he was a Christian! We prayed over him for healing in his eyes. He wasn’t healed right then, but I have faith that He will heal Him one day! He then pointed us to a lady across the street who he said was also a Christian. So we continued on our way to her house.
When we talked to this woman she said she has been a Christian for 44 years. She wanted us to stay the night so we could meet other Christians in the area in the morning. I was able to pray over we as well for strong faith. We then continued on our way and spotted another lady who was reading the Bible we had left at her gate.
This lady was not a Christian. Our translator shared the gospel with her and by the end of our conversation she asked for prayer that she would know Jesus. I was also able to pray for this that she would know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior! When we left this lady we walked back to the van and spotted the man who is blind and I saw him just clinging onto the Bible we gave him. He was not letting go!
As we were headed back in the van I asked God what in the world just happened. He said, “You prayed for these conversations, I provided the opportunities and you took them.” I went out to minister to these people and came back so much more encouraged then I could have ever imagined!
Financial update: I am still over $700 away from meeting the next deadline of $11,000 by October 1.
