I absolutely loved Japan. We were surrounded by the mountains with bright, fall colors. The country is so beautiful and it made me realized how amazing the Lord is.
We stayed in Sanda, which is about an hour away from Osaka. My team and I stayed with different local families throughout the month and loved it. We have grown close with them and learned so much about their cultures because of it.
For ministry this month, we taught English in classrooms. We also hosted fun activities such as a hiking trip, two cooking classes, several parties, etc. During those fun activities, we would share each other’s stories and talk about Jesus.
The people of Japan are looking for great amount of hope. The Japanese here are very structured and have only one path which is to succeed in every way. Because of that, they receive a lot of darkness and have no freedom which leads to no hope. The suicidal rate here is very high, about 19.4 percent. My team and I’s goal for this month was to tell them who Jesus is and that He can give them hope. Our goal was to give them freedom that we have received from the Lord. To show them that they are alive and that they have a reason to be alive. They are at the top of the mountain, not at the bottom. The mountain will shake them into God’s love.
Galatians 5:13
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
I can happily say that God definitely used us this month. He used us for telling them about Jesus. He used us by showing His love. The Lord used us by giving our freedom that He gave to us for them. He used us to show the them, the people that we have came across this month, that they aren’t alone. God used us by showing them that they are at the top of the mountain and they are free through HIS love. Because of that, God blessed us with great friendships here in Japan. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the people we have met and grown close to. But we have found grace in this and know that God will harvest them for as we have planted the seeds. God showed me a whole new side of Him this month and my love for Him keeps growing. I can’t get over how amazing and beautiful He is! I really can’t wait till the day I get to meet my Father, its going to be awesome-sauce.

This Wednesday, my squad and I head out to Nepal for month four! Please keep us in your prayers as we transition into another country. Pray that the Lord will continue to use us in beautiful ways. We want to keep showing His marvelous light!
