It’s amazing how we can complicate things.

Don’t you think God created things to be simple?
I mean, just look at God Himself.
It says that He is LOVE.

We know that He is Love, yet we go further and further, trying to define who He is, what He is, and what He is not.
We create formulas, fill journals, and draw outlines to describe who He is, when really He doesn’t need any other word than love.

[[I’m not saying that it’s wrong to explore into who God is or that it’s not needed, that’s who we are. We want to know Him more, and if that means to ask Him who He is and dive into more vocabulary, then that’s the way it is. I’m just saying – always go back to the fact that He is LOVE.]]

We do this with our lives as well – complicate things, that it.
It becomes complicated with schedules, with distractions, and especially with relationships.

Our pride stands in the way of friendships.
Our worry blocks depth with family.
Our fear avoids trust with others.

God asks us to love. We freely receive love from Him, so we should freely give love.

“The most important one [commandment],” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
-Mark 12: 29-31

So, that’s what He’s asking from us, simply to love.
From that love all things will flow – acts of service, depth, trust, confidence, etc.

Maybe, instead of us asking God who He is and what He can do for us, we can simply receive His love and love Him in return.
Instead of thinking too much into conversations, planning out conversations, and expecting others to love first, let us be the first to love.

Go love someone.
