Week one is officially down and week two is under way.
This is how our weeks are looking so far:

Monday through Wednesday we will work on the Gates of Zion property, doing special projects assigned by Tony.
My team and one other team have the duty of uprooting all of the plants between the property and the road.

I must admit that before our projects were assigned to teams I had a preference of NOT working outside. I don't completely agree with all of the outdoor projects, especially after investing four years of studying environmental science.
I told Tony about some of my thoughts, but I guess, as of now, he is still considering the advice.

So, of course, my team got assigned to the project I disagreed with the most. But, I'm learning to submit to my authority and just go with his dreams. After all, we are here to help this organization and work out of selflessness.

Thursday is our day to entertain about 30 girls who have been pulled off the streets because they were considered a danger to society, at an organization called Ihnfa.

This past Thursday I had the privilege of painting girls' nails, helping to make bracelets, and surprisingly holding a 25 minute Spanish conversation.
Those 3 months of Spanish classes really paid off!

Friday contains "Take it to the Streets" and internet time. For Take it to the Streets we literally went to the streets to share the love of God to people just getting of a week of work.
Our squad, a Passport team, and some Hondurans who live on the property here took over a major intersection of Tegucigalpa and bombarded the streets with signs saying "Honk for Jesus" and "Jesus loves you," though in Spanish, obviously.

I got a little discouraged at times, like when I got flicked off by a driver and then was told to go home by another driver. When I realized I was thinking about these two incidents more that the hundreds of passengers who were waving and smiling, I thought back to some talks at launch and decided to REBUKE what those people had said and done.

Saturday is our time to… well, I can't say for sure because we were told one thing and we ended up doing a pretty opposite thing.

This past Saturday (my birthday!) a few teammates and I spent two hours making pancakes and scrambled eggs for over 60 people. What a rush to start the day!
We all then went to a Baptist church downtown where I helped lead the worship with my violin and spent a good 3 hours singing, dancing, listening to testimonies, a sermon about the mind, and playing a game.

Has it really only been a little over two weeks since I left good-ole Buford? I feel like I'm already getting into the Honduran swing of things!
