Starting with the basics:

My name is Haley Jandrlich. I am a native Georgian and have called Buford my hometown for my entire life – all 21 years of it. Since age 4, I was taught, encouraged, and loved by my mom, the superwoman that she is. My two big brothers are my protectors, my sister is my friend, and my little brother is my funny bone.

In May 2012 I will graduate with an Environmental Science major from Georgia College & State University. I have the qualifications to have an Italian minor, but I guess my school has yet to reach that point.

When people ask what I want to do for the rest of my life – which is a frequently asked question nowadays – I honestly respond, “I’m not sure.” I don’t know what or where God is calling me, but I am willing to go where He needs me. I would love to be a full-time missionary and somehow intertwine my major into serving – maybe sharing the Gospel while teaching others how to properly farm for their soil type? Hmm? Who knows, really.

  Why the World Race:

Learning about different cultures is something that has always
enthralled me. What others eat, how they were raised, what or
who they worship – everything is an additional piece of
  knowledge.

God has made me to be a traveler, I know this. The only question
is where does He want me to be?

A couple of months ago I was deciding between applying for the
World Race and jumping right into the long-term mission field. After much prayer and meditation, 11 months in 11 countries seems like the perfect opportunity for God to show me where in the world He needs me the most.

My walk:

The past three years have been wonderful grounds of growth in my Spiritual journey. As a freshman in college I knew who God was and what the Bible contained, but I did not have a personal relationship with Christ nor did I understand what it meant to follow Him.

With wonderful encouragers and accountability partners by my side, I have learned more, grown more, loved more, and trusted more in the past few years than I ever would have without a true relationship with Christ.

There have definitely been dark times of my life. Times of worry and guilt; areas of secret and buckets of sin. Through all this though, I know that I have been forgiven of everything. I have been bought with a price; my slavery to sin is over and now I am chained to righteousness.

What I like to do:

I love reading and learning from what I read. Autobiographies and inspirational writings are my favorite.

I write in a journal to organize my thoughts. Though, I started a blog about
6 months ago in order to keep people updated about my 3 month, summer
adventure through Italy. I’ve written in it a total of three times – so this
  should be interesting.

Music is a joy to me! I play the violin, attempt the mandolin, and am
teaching myself the cello. I also play in my church’s worship band (What,
  what, New City Church!).

I enjoy cycling more than running, yet endure both. I love climbing and anything involving the outdoors and am constantly wishing that I could spend more time doing all these things.

My pilot’s license is at the tip of my fingers.

Traveling. I don’t really have to explain. Just take a glance at my shower curtain – it’s a world map, my lifetime goal.
