What is life really all about? We grow up hearing the things we should be, and people telling us things we should do. We are molded and shaped by our parents and the people around us growing up. We know the things we know because they have been taught to us. Some of us have grown up in church or been in and out of church, and we know what we know because it’s been taught to us. What is our life really all about? We have been taught to go to school, act right, go to church, be a good person, go to college and be successful… Don’t you know there’s more to life than that. We go to church and sing I surrender all… But has there truly been a moment when you fell before The Lord and gave Him everything you have? Given Him all of you? So often we cling to the things people teach us instead of digging into the word and asking The Lord to teach us Himself. What if there’s more for you than who people and this world have molded you to be. There is more to life than going to school and warming a pew. Jesus calls us to give up everything daily to follow Him. Are you dying to yourself daily in the way you live your life? Are you really giving up all of yourself in order to be used by Him? There is so much more to life! We really think we are doing good when we have a job, house, family and get ourselves to church. Why don’t we all know there’s more to life than all of this. There is so much more! There are things to be done here in the United States just as there are over seas. Everyone has a specific call on their life and whether that be here in the U.S., or over seas in a third world country. Are you really giving your call your all? The Lord tells us to work at everything with our entire heart as if we are doing it for Him. We as Americans have no clue what it means to give up everything and follow The Lord. We live on such a cushion of comfort that we don’t have the desperation to turn to The Lord daily as we should. We let life get in the way, and business take over. Our time is consumed by school, work, sports and even busy with church events.. But are you really answering your call? We haven’t even begun to reach the comprehension of the power and authority we have in The Lord; if we really believed it we’d be doing a lot more walking and praying in the streets rather than sitting watching a tv show that is pointless to life. We were called to spread the gospel!! We are called to go out and speak truth and be love. Do we really do that? We get angry if someone cuts us off in traffic or if things aren’t going our way. We don’t even slow down to say “God, what do you want me to do today?”. Seriously, when is the last time you had a conversation with The Lord? We go day in and day out in our own little worlds. It seems we only turn to The Lord when we need/want something, or something bad is going on. Do we ever stop to just say “Daddy thank you for your grace and provision.”? We don’t even realized how blessed we are. We think we have the things we have because we earned them and worked hard for them or because we deserve them. In all reality, we don’t deserve any of it, and we only have it because The Lord has allowed us to be blessed by it whether we worked for it or not. Not a single one of us is worthy, but He calls us His beloved child. If we really grasped how much The Lord really loves us and the power we have in His name- this world would be a different place. What is it going to take for us to wake up and get out of this close minded place of putting God in a box, and stepping into what He really created us for? Yes, we should work and enjoy life.. But along with that we have the responsibility to be who He created us to be! Some people are called to work in an office cubical from 9-5, while others are called to walk the streets of Uganda loving orphans and feeding the hungry. Some people are called to go to school and be “successful” in the eyes of this world; then there are those that have no business being in school because their calling is to be a missionary and travel the world. Regardless of job status or “power” rank, none of us are greater than the other. We have all been created for one mission in life, and that is to bring the lost to Christ. There is more to life than what we’ve allowed ourselves to believe. Whether a stay at home mom or the president of the United States.. Your life has purpose far more than you see. What is it that’s holding you back? Is it lies that have been spoken over you your entire life? Is it things that have been taught to you that aren’t even true?! Is it because you’ve grown up going to church but you’ve never had a real heart change? Is it because everyone knows you as a “Christian” but in all reality you aren’t; you’ve just been acting? Is it because you’ve become stagnant and don’t even begin to know how to find your way back? Maybe because you think you’ve done wrong too much to be loved by The Lord and be important to him? There’s so much more to life than the label that someone has slapped on you. No matter who you are or what you’ve done, no matter where you’ve been or where you are, The Lord loves you and you have purpose. No one is a mistake, and no matter how bad life has been… It can be good. The Lord intended for life to be good. He never intended for us to live the ordinary “Christian” life. He created us each perfectly in His image to be extraordinary. So WHY… Why have we allowed ourselves to get to this place where we just live an ordinary life… There’s more to life. What is it going to take for you to get out of this cycle you’ve been stuck in? You have questions of what is my calling.. How about while waiting on answers of where to go and what to do, you do something while you’re waiting. We miss so many opportunities and things He has called us to, because we are too worried about seeking out what He’s calling us to do. Don’t let trying to figure out what you were created for become an idol in your life. Live day to day doing what He wants you to do that day. We don’t have to do huge extravagant things in order to be answering the call. There’s so much more to life. There shouldn’t be this laziness we have as Americans, or this prideful spirit. Instead of laying on the couch with a bag of potato chips; we should be out serving the least of these. Yes we should rest and relax.. But we have gotten resting confused with our lazy lifestyle. It’s not going to kill you to give of your time and you’re not too good to be seen with the least of these. We should be running to the homeless murderers and prostitutes; instead we judge them and push them away. Jesus spent His time with thieves sluts and liars.. We spend our time with the people we accept and sit and judge the homeless on the street. The people on the street aren’t there because they want to be- we don’t know their stories.. Some are there because of things they couldn’t control while others are there because of bad decisions they have made. How dare us sit and judge and say they deserve this because of decisions they have made. Haven’t we all sinned and done things we aren’t proud of… Instead of judging we should be on our knees thanking The Lord for the grace He has poured on our lives- that we aren’t in the same place as them- and reaching out to them in the love of Christ.. When’s the last time you passed judgement on someone because of something they are wearing or because of something they have done. The Lord tells us not to judge or we too will be judged. We are called- commanded to LOVE and be LOVE. Do you even really grasp the meaning and power of the word Love? Have you ever even experienced true love? Love from the Father.. How he loves you so much with no strings attached… We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves… Instead we love ourselves and hate our neighbor… There is more to life than we are living. It’s time for us to stand up and stop being lazy! It’s time for us to stop letting the world give us answers and people teach us and go to The Lord for our answers and allow His word to teach us. It’s time to stop being so incredibly selfish and actually give a little of ourselves. It’s time to stop thinking highly of ourselves because we gave money to the church or did something nice for someone-what are your motives behind what you do- what is your heart in it? It’s time for us to take a stand and walk in the power and authority of The Lord.. It’s time for us to be who He has created us to be and stop listening to everyone and all the lies of this world of who we are supposed to be! ITS TIME TO WAKE UP! THERE IS MORE TO LIFE! ITS TIME TO GET IN THE WORD AND GET DOWN ON OUR KNEES! It’s time that we become selfless and love like JESUS! WE ARE CALLED TO BE HIS HANDS AND FEET…
