Tent:

·         Every Racer needs a 2-person, freestanding tent. This tent will only hold one person with their gear. It needs to be freestanding in case you want to set it up indoors where you cannot stake the tent into the ground. Married Couples should get a 3-person tent.

·         Make sure tent has adequate ventilation.

·         You will need a rain-fly for your tent.

·         Consider getting a “footprint.” This is an extra piece of material that goes between the bottom of the tent and the ground to protect the floor. This isn’t necessary but will prolong the life of your tent.

·         The tent needs to be lightweight. No tent should be over 5-6lbs. A good tent is around 4 lbs.

Bedding:

·         Small Pillow

·         A sleeping bag that is rated for at least 35 degrees. Based on the typical weather in your location, you may want an even higher degree.

·         Sheet or Sleeping Bag Liner for Warm Weather.

·         A sleeping pad is necessary and not the place to save money. Get something that is good quality, comfortable, and durable.
