Some of the weirdest, coolest, and strangest things I’ve done on the first half of the World Race

I’ve peed under a tree at midnight with 3 squad mates and 4 African women.

I’ve swam in the Zambezi river, with hippos to my left and Victoria Falls on my right.

Ive taken 3 public night buses within 5 days.

I’ve been in 4 different countries within 2 days.

I’ve witnessed to people in a makeshift bar in the African bush and watched them come to Christ.

I’ve seen a crippled woman stand up and dance.

I’ve seen a blind woman see the sunlight.

I’ve made 6 of the most different people I’ve ever met my family.

I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving in Botswana.

I’ve done door to door evangelism Christmas week.

I’ve snorkeled in the Caribbean.

I’ve hatched a crocodile.

I’ve spent over 100 hours in 4 months on planes or buses.

I’ve walked across 5 international borders.

I’ve spent multiple Saturdays at a coffee shop in the middle of Port Au Prince Haiti.

I’ve had dance parties for Jesus.

I’ve had prayer parties on Halloween in a country full of voodoo.

I’ve had the honor of leading a woman to Christ.

I’ve stargazed at 4 in the morning in Haiti.

I’ve spent $17 on Starbucks during a layover in America. (Take advantage when you can.)

I’ve learned to accept and value the differences between my teammates and I.

I’ve done laundry in a bucket. (too many times to count.)

I’ve taken a shower with a bucket in a roofless circular hut made of sticks.

I’ve lived out of a backpack for 4 months.

I’ve chopped down banana trees in the jungle.

I’ve showered in waterfalls.

I’ve jumped off waterfalls.

I’ve seen one of the biggest waterfalls in the world.

I’ve worshipped through a hurricane in the Dominican Republic.

I’ve eaten crocodile tail.

I’ve eaten a cricket.

I’ve eaten a worm.

I’ve eaten rice every day for over a month.

I’ve eaten authentic African cuisine with my hands.

I’ve peed without toilet paper too many times.

I’ve worn the same 5 shirts for 4 months.

I’ve illegally visited Zambia. (Don’t tell anyone.)

I’ve gotten in sand fights with my teammates.

I’ve washed feet.

I’ve had my feet washed.

I’ve gone 2 months without a phone.

I’ve worshiped through service.

Ive worshipped through art.

I’ve worshipped through observing nature.

I’ve experienced authentic joy.

I have seen and felt true redemption.

Here’s to five more months of the strangest and craziest and hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done!!!
