I am currently living in the Dominican Republic, taking showers in waterfalls and sharing a room with 14 people. While being here, I have begun to realize just how much I take for granted living in America. Here is a list of things I regularly took for granted:

1. Hot showers

2. Running water that works 24/7 (The water turns off once a day here)

3. Having my own bedroom

4. Waking up to an alarm instead of a rooster

5. Having dozens of books available to me at all times

6. Driving my car

7. Going on coffee dates

8. Being on social media anytime I want

9. Having a job – making money!

10. Going to the kitchen to grab a snack

11. Chickfila!

12. Sleepovers with my best friend

13. Only dealing with American money

14. Being with my family everyday

15. Babysitting my siblings (Yes, Mom, I miss this!)

16. Making myself breakfast every morning

17. Climbing on the roof to watch the sunset

18. My wonderful queen-sized bed

19. Not being concerned with running out of toilet paper

20. Not having to kill any bugs before bed

21. Choosing exactly how I spend my time everyday

22. Watching The Office with my brother

23. Never worrying about my bedroom flooding

24. Having wifi at all times

25. Being surrounded by English speakers

26. Going to school

27. Laundry machines

28. Being comfortable

Thank you so much for reading! Please keep my squad and I in your prayers as we transition from the DR to Haiti this week. Until next time!
