God loves me mightily. He gives me gifts everyday, and sometimes I think it is important to simply acknowledge those gifts to bring power and adoration to His name! Here are my top 10 favorite gifts He’s given me this week, in no particular order.
1. At the beginning of the week, I told God I hadn’t seen a colorful sunset in a while and asked Him for one. Every night since, there’s been a beautiful, colorful sunset.
2. My team did super feedback- the most dreaded form of the most dreaded team time. (Feedback- A team time devoted to calling each other higher in Christ. Super feedback- everyone has to give everyone feedback.) It was a little uncomfortable, but definitely my favorite feedback yet. I left feeling encouraged and pursued, as per usual when I put Jesus first!
3. After 13 days, we have wifi again!
4. On Valentine’s Day, I was reading a book called Uninvited, a book I started back in the DR but hadn’t picked up since. While I was reading, 2 yellow/golden flowers fell out of the book. I have no memory of putting these flowers in my book! I’m pretty positive God gave me flowers for Valentines Day!
5. I’ve been sick all week, but with being sick comes plenty of opportunity to rest, which is something I’ve been asking God for for a while now!
6. We spent a couple of hours one night praying for everyone who was affected by the FL shooting. God gave me His heart and let me experience just a fraction of the pain He feels over this. Sometimes it’s difficult to view this as a gift, but my Jesus gave me an opportunity to feel just a bit of what He feels, and in turn I knew what to pray for over the mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters.
7. Yesterday, I got to sit with my African mom- Momma Thuli – and talk with her for a while. She is genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve met here. We were talking about Myers Briggs personality types, and when I asked her what she is, she said, “Probably E something, I talk a lot.”
8. I’ve gotten to talk to my brother Christian a couple of times this week!!! (Miss you C Grimm!!)
9. Our squad leader Aubrey got here on Thursday!!! So thankful to have her here!!
10. The redemption that Abba is creating in my life has been called out by several people, and the gifts He is giving me are becoming who I am – I am not a shy person, but one who is gifted with boldness in Christ’s name! Thank you Abba for giving me people to point out these good gifts in my life.
