Getting sick on the race, you never know what you’re going to get. I have gotten sick a total of 3 times. In those times being sick, I didn’t have to pay a cent. The Lord every time has shown me something through it. Being sick here in Thailand hasn’t been fun. The moment we got to our new ministry site for the week, I got sick. It started with just a stomach ache, but then as the days went on it turned to major migraines, throwing up, stomach problems, and just feeling really weak. With the first day, I just felt super nauseous all the time, not wanting to really eat anything, and just a really bad migraine. I slept for most the day and thought it was nothing. I ended up going to ministry that next day, but 2 hours later while at ministry…yes, yes I did poop my pants. It was so embarrasing, and I thought I wouldn’t be the first one on my team to, but I did.

I ended up just eating crackers and sipping on some sprite for the next couple days, until day 3 I asked my team leader if I should go to the local clinic. So, I went to the clinic. Now, here in Thailand clinics aren’t like they are in the states…so I sat down and in broken English the Dr asked me what my symptoms were, I explained and got medicine within 10 minutes of talking. I again, didn’t have to pay a cent, the Lord is my provider. I took the medicine that night, but ended up throwing it up. As I lay there with stomach pains, a major migraine, and stomach problems I asked the Lord what He was teaching me. He said, rest and trust in Me.

I ended up getting tested for malaria the next day. Praise the Lord, I don’t have malaria! I ended up having a viral infection. That meant more medicine. I stopped taking the medicine from the clinic the day before, and started my new stuff today. I can say I’m not 100% better, but feeling a lot better!

In my sickness, He is my strength.

In my sickness, He showed me it’s okay to just rest.

In my sickness, He showed me what it means to rest in Him.

In my sickness, He’s shown me it’s okay to take a break once in a while.
