I have always struggled with the “About Me” portion of these kinds of things. I suppose I find it difficult to share about myself in such a broad manner. So here’s my attempt at that…
People call me Hadassah (pronounced Huh-daw-suh) which is helpful because that’s my name.
I like sunsets and coffee, not necessarily together but certainly not only apart.
I love chocolate and I understand “love” is a strong word and I’m ok with using that here. I may or may not have lived off of only chocolate and popcorn when in need of a trip to the grocery store.
I always have a song playing in my head and frequently that tune escapes out of my mouth. Meaning, I sing all of the time, sometimes the same tune over and over again which people may find annoying but I don’t even realize I’m doing it half of the time.
People are what make this world go round. I see so much value in storytelling and people sharing their personal stories of struggles, triumphs, and joys.
I love spending time with kids. I’m currently working as a nanny to 3 wonderful kiddos and I truly cherish my time with them. I suppose I enjoy kids so much because of their innocence and wonder; they look at everything as though they’re discovering it for the first time. Their joy and excitement for the smallest things is contagious. It’s easy to connect with a child, just make them laugh and then you become best friends. Ok, enough about kids.
I knew I wanted to do missions work when I got a taste several years ago when I went to Mexico on a short term mission trip. I soaked in every second of it: community, new culture and language, crossing cultural barriers to share Christ’s love with fellow brothers and sisters. I found that I was most alive in these moments, most secure in me, most in love with Jesus. I thank God every day for this gift of life and that His blood flows through my veins and that, wow, this isn’t all there is, we get to live eternally with our Father.
