The definition of baptism is “symbolizing purification or regeneration and admission to the family of Christ”.
When I was just a few days old my parents baptized me. And most people believe that is when you get accepted into the family of God. Recently I have been reading more up on the act of baptism and a big part of it is the person saying they want to be cleansed in Christ and adopted into his kingdom. Over this study I have come to realize that when my parents baptized me it was their public delectation that they would raise me in the church and teach me about God.
Being on the Race has really challenged my character and my faith in so many ways and every time I have grown stronger in it. I always knew I was a Christian because I was baptized and I went to church but being on the race has really showed me being a Christian doesn’t stop when you leave the walls of the church. Being a Christian is who you are, it’s at your very core. Jesus even said if you are luke warm in your faith I will spit you out of my mouth. I have fallen more in love with the father than ever before and felt it was time to make it a public declaration that I wanted to me his and I wanted him in my life.
So on day 100 of the race my team and I went to one of the seven wonders of the world and sat on the edge of Victoria Falls in Devils Pool and I was baptized by my friend Maddie, right on the edge of the world. Being in Devils Pool is a once in a life time thing as it is but being baptized their made it all the sweeter. I was so glad I got to share that with my team in one of Gods most incredible creations.
Sending much love and a Happy Holidays from Zambia!
