I caved… Brandon started the trend and I’m joining in! Here are a few fun facts about me to my family, the O Squad. I hope this helps all of you all know me more in any way that you are on this journey with me : )
1) I’m 21
2) My full name is gwendolyn Maryla Debaun
3) I don’t like using a capital ‘G’ when I spell my name, I much prefer the lowercase ‘g’ it’s prettier.
4) I have one older brother, who’s married. He and his beautiful wife have blessed us with two adorable nieces. I will pull out my phone and pictures of them and have many stories to tell you all about them, they’re adorable and awesome and I love them SO much!
5) Currently I’m studying at the University of Indianapolis. I’m studying a double major in Environmental Science and Sustainability and a minor in International Relations.
6) I have no idea what or where I will be when I come back from the Race
7) I can knit.
8) I LOVE adventures! Like seriously any time all the time I will be there
9) The main food groups in my life are: chips & Salsa, peanut butter, Nutella, and coco puffs
9) I used to be a barista which is part of my love for coffee
10) I have two cats and I love them a bunch! I also have a plant and am trying to convince my parents to get a dog, there is a squirrel on campus that I call Hermon who likes to come up near me
11) I’ve had four main jobs in life: Barista, water girl at an outdoor nursery, Plato’s Closet, and odd and ends jobs at my university
12) I once took a djembe drum around my campus to serenade people
13) I love to sing. Anytime anywhere
14) I love Peter Pan. “Second star to the right and straight on to morning!”
15) I love surfing. I subscribe to two major surfing magazines and read them A LOT.
16) I can’t surf but love the water and know that one day I will.
17) I want to learn how to longboard
18) I really don’t like to be inside and especially inside in buildings all the time. I much prefer being outside than in
19) I had 5 wisdom teeth
20) I’ve broken both my feet and cracked my growth plate in my left wrist. All were by sheer clumsiness, if you would like the details, I’d be happy to share
21) I’m allergic to fish and shellfish
22) I love reading Thoreau’s quotes
23) I’m 6ft 1in
24) My favorite color is turquoise
25) I was diagnosed with debilitating migraines when I was a freshman in high school. I missed two years of high school but still graduated on time. God has gotten me through a lot over healing me more drastically than I ever would have thought possible. I’m not cured of migraines but I know my time is coming
26) I have scoliosis in my neck. I was born with it and I’m ok with it. You’ll probably find me using a tennis ball to massage neck pretty often though : )
27) I play cello and want to learn how to play the guitar
28) I really can’t read music, I just understand it
29) Sports? Nah so much
30) I really enjoy watching some though!
31) Yes, I live in Indy, but I don’t pay attention to the Colts
32) When your birthday comes around, I will party it up with you!
33) I’ve lived in the same house my entire life
34) I love food!
35) I really can’t cook and love eating my friend’s food
36) Numbers, so not my thing
37) I binge watch That’s 70s Show, How I Met Your Mother, and New Girl on Netflix. But I rarely watch TV
38) I had my appendix taken out in the fall of 2012 the day after Christmas
39) When I got my appendix out I learned that I have Heterotaxy (for all the medical people on my squad, do you know what it is? : ))
40) I wear a lot of bracelets and they all have meaning. “All In” is from my semester in DC and my church I went to and the book “All In” we read and sermon series. “Love for Aubrey” is a young girl at my church I go to who suffers from Mitochondria disorder. “The Alternative, Love God Love Others” is a worship service I attended in GA. “I Heart Africa” my heart is truly there and I’m really excited to see what happens when we’re there! 41) From the Alternative, my best friend Ashley and I started our own worship service in Indy called The Alternative North
42) I firmly believe that God places people in your life for reasons to learn from everyone
43) I am addicted to cookies. One dinner I ate recently included donuts and cookies….then eventually mac and cheese : )
44) I’m really bad at doing laundry
45) I have to have many alarms to remind to go and do things (like class, and work)
46) My favorite chore is washing the dishes
47) I love wearing flannel

49) With being outside in nature, I love hiking! Most of my free time is spent going on them : )
