Family, Friends, Tsquad, SQ Coaches, SQ Mentors and Supporters.
Im in El Salvador, and Its been 20 days since I left the Race. Hard and just weird being at home. Its crazy to be back with my family and friends, they have been my biggest support, Thank you so much.
Overwhelming is the fact that I will not be able to continue on the Race because of what happened. Im not longer a World Racer. I have to be completely honest with you, I can’t help feeling sad and disappointed sometimes that Im not able to complete this journey, but I believe that all of this come from The Lord.
My squad is in Swaziland working with an amazing ministry site with orphans. I miss my brothers and sisters so much, is hearth braking not being there with them and not knowing if I’ll ever see them again. Im still trying to find true peace on that. It has been a crazy ride racing next to them, we’ve been fighting the good fight.
I want to thank everyone who supported me in one way or another, and from the bottom of my hearth Im telling you that your help made a huge difference in God’s Kingdom, the life of other people and in my own life. Thank you, I would never have come this far without you!
Im trying to get in touch with all of you personally or by Skype, FaceTime, Facebook or email to express my gratitude for everything that you did for the first Salvadorean on the Race, that would be me. I’ve been able to respond to God’s call thanks to all the people who believe in me. Thank you for sending me out to the nations. I still have the world ahead, but now God has rerouted my path, I feel pretty good about it now, Im excited to see where is he taking me.
Tsquad
My love and prayers goes out to all of you. I will keep you guys in my hearth and all the things that I did next to all of you. Its been a good story so far, but you guys need to keep racing, you still have 5 months more! Unfortunately for me, my time on the race was shorter, but it was amazing to share that time with Tsquad.
Stay strong as a squad even when things get hard. Keep on doing what you do best, share Jesus to the world and keep on loving each other and the people out there. Lets keep in touch okay.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers (sisters too), whenever you face trials of many kinds” James 1:2
What is next for me?
20 days ago I still had 5 month and a half to decide what I wanted to do after the Race, a good amount of time to just think and look out for options of things to do or the jobs to try to get. After the Race, I knew that I had to do something new with my life, I knew that there was going to be a call from the Lord.
“After the Race”: that moment is in front of me right now and I have no idea of what to do or where to start. Definitely I need to find a job to put some money on my bank account, pay my debts and keep going, at the moment Im depending on mom and dad again, thank you much guys!
Anyways, the thing is that I don’t have a plan, but “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
The best I can do is just trust Him, rely on Him and submit myself to his will. God is good and His love never fails, I believe that there is something else out there for me, I still don’t know what it is though. I also believe that The Father loves me so much and He is caring me perfectly today as He will tomorrow as He did on the race.
This are some bible verses that some people had share with me to encourage me and give me strength and hope to face whatever is next.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” Isaiah 40:31
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope” Psalm 130:5
I have decided to believe and trust HIM instead of stumble and fall.
Finally
I just want to share what I’ve learned from this Race, in case any of you are thinking on joining the Race or going out in a mission trip.
Jesus doesn’t travel with you on the airplane; he is already there, waiting for you to introduce Him to the his people.
Its a personal effort, the impact doesn’t depend of a team or an organization, it depends of you and your personal relationship with The Almighty, its a journey between you and God.
You are not going there to be spiritual parents, you are there to be a partner and grow all together. God has called you to love and share Jesus to everyone.
The first life you change will be your own. Prepare to do things you have never done, be flexible and Always let the Lord lead your steps.
I used to think that I had to be special for God to use me, but now I know that I simply need to say yes to his call. 8 month ago I said: Yes lord, Send me.
“When Jesus invites us on an Adventure, He shapes who we become with what happens along the way” From the book Love Does by Bob Goff
My life has changed so much, I have a new vision of the Kingdom of God and my role on it.
God can do amazing things through your live, don’t think about it so much, just say yes.
Much love,
Guille Rodriguez
