Ok ,so here is the deal. I am not the most disciplined person when it comes to writing blogs and sharing with everyone back at home whats been going on here but I have a bunch of really great friends who have written some spectacular blogs and have really expressed through words and pictures what it has been like here in Peru. Go check these blogs out and I am sure that you will get sucked in and end up spending two hours sitting in front of your computer eyes burning, realizing what an amazing group of individuals I am with and that God is alive and on the Move. Caroline, Matt Snyder, Matt Peters, Angie, Kim, Andrea, Rachel, Rusty, Tammy, Sarah, Becky, Teagan, Patrice, Mark and everyone else from the Jan 2008 Team.

What has been going on with me is this. I have absolutely enjoyed my time here and the people that live in this place. The people of Peru are welcoming, loving and are ready to give you a chair and some food to eat the minute you walk into their lives. They are a blessing. God does put people and places into our path to teach us more about him. I have been so blessed to be able to tag along with some of the girls from my team who have been ministering to baby carol and her family. It was such a blessing and a comfort from home when I met Carol for the first time. I had heard about this little girl and her situation and I couldn’t help but go and visit to see if there was a way I could help. For those of you new to the story Carol is a precious child of God that has a disability that some of the girls on my team have been trying to help the family sort through and find Carol some professional help. I come from a Recreational Therapy background and I have been working with children with disabilities for the last 6 years so I felt like I could provide Carol with some support. I was going over to Carol’s house for about an hour and providing her with some very basic therapy. What an amazing little girl! I have this theory that God blesses these special children with some of the most amazing physical features to give us a little glimpse of how he sees them.

Baby Carol (look at those eye lashes)

God has been on the move in Carol’s family and it has been exciting to watch. He has big plans for Carol and we are all in anticipation.
