Writing during worship, quiet time, and foreign church services has become one of my favorite occasions on the race. God has been challenging me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Last month my team did “unsung heroes” in Panama. The month consisted of traveling the country looking for new ministry sites. Since then, I have traveled to Thailand and SWITCHED TEAMS! Enjoy some of my latest writings and stay tuned for some photos and stories of what God has been up to in my life!
“Help Me”
Help me to capture my thoughts
Help me to know I’m bought
I’m paid by the blood of the cross
Blood sweeter than the finest wine gushed from your side
Our debts have been paid so why do we fumble
“IF I REBUILD WHAT I TORE DOWN I BECOME A TRANSGRESSOR”
Even in my struggle he can never be lesser
I’m invited to his yoke; riddled by the flesh, shaken and broke
With his mercy my burden is lifted; heirs to the throne is what I’ve been gifted
Let my thoughts run rampant with the freedom you’ve instilled
And my fire for the cross never be chilled
“Broken Growth”
Break my mold of the flesh: I know there’s more
Give me eyes for what you long for
With lungs for your breath; pulse rising in my chest
The old is dying; starved of life
I search, long for your presence
In my broken growth I rely on your essence
Recovery is not attainable; dependence hardly sustainable
Our souls are not of this place is the fact we’ve yet to face
SO rejoice in the struggle; rest assured in the void
The church is a body not a place; life’s about family not a race
We’ll chat of how we found our way home
Home is of the heart and loves just the start
The start that sparks the heart of HE
For when We touch the heart of HE the body is all it can be

“Spiritual Warfare”
Dark spirits hear us for you will learn to fear us
Together we stand with sword in hand
For he demands I pick a side
Through him he tear apart the lies
His Word cuts deep, I’m bleeding
The wounds are unseen, my enemy a spiritual being
My weapon is faith, my battlefield is life
Pushing out the doubt and charging ahead
Conquering things of the mind with Him as lead
Without the mind the body goes astray
Thoughts of brought come to my dismay
All this attention can’t be for nothing?
No, I’m quite certain this is for something
Ever, man, woman, and child has potential
Speaking truth, sharing love is always beneficial
God gives the order but we must march
Alone brings our demise; as one we must rise
The lukewarm rather ridiculous; half-hearted forgotten and inconspicuous
Footholds are undermining; dissension prevents refining
The souls of the world are on the line
So choose your side; I’ve decided mine
“Man of lawlessness”
Man of lawlessness why do you tempt me?
Man of lawlessness here to present me
In the mirror I see two faces; their gaze in two different places
Lawlessness looks so appealing, my choices quite revealing
I am broken beyond repair, now the mirror gives only a glare
In lawlessness I do what I hate
Man of integrity just close the gate!
“For he who is within me is greater than he who is in the world”
Although lawlessness boats its awesomeness I feel the truth
He who is in me is who I am in HE
Man of lawlessness keeps me from who I am meant to be
Man of integrity, Christ bred has set me free
“God’s word”
The greatest story of all time
Of the selfless act without rhyme or reason
It gets better and better each day; It gives me joy to pray
Pick it up and glance it over; it speaks of history’s greatest lover
An invitation to the family reunion; breaking bread at Christ’s communion
“I’m pregnant”
There’s new life inside of me; what I eat has changed
Now I eat for two; friends and family askin by who?!
The spirit has come and watered His seed; and now I’ve sprouted three leaves
The first is of my past it was not meant to last
As it shrivels and dies the other two begin to thrive
1 is of today, the other is of tomorrow
New life is what I’ve been given; makes me rethink how I’ve been livin
“Scarecrow”
The lord is no fool, you will reap what you sow
People come and they go some high some low
No need to fret or make silly bets
God is not tricked; he’s already taken his picks
So go and do as your told those who’re blessed to grow old
Live life tending to your fields; making the most of what you’ve been dealed
