Greg or “Gregory” is said to imply watchfulness. I believe this fits me fairly well as I often enjoy walking to class, around the grocery, or pretty much anywhere and I thoroughly enjoy looking at people and how they carry themselves. Are they happy, stressed, preoccupied, shy, or are they simply put at unease at my whimsical grin? Nonetheless, this blog will be my attempt at describing what makes Greg Greg..
1)      I am oddly OCD about some things. For instance my left shoe goes on before my right. I apply deodorant to my right underarm before my left

1a)    My nephews refer to me as "Little Greg" as my father and I share the same name.

2)      I have a distinct bounce to my walk. I do not claim to do this intentionally but my friends agree that I live up to my “tigger walk”.

3)      I am an expressive creature and often make noises to “enhance” my recollections of past events.

4)      In my attempts as a student-athlete to eat healthy I often find myself eating multiple small meals such as: PB&J, salad, cereal, eggs &bacon. As long as it is somewhat healthy the quantity may vary.

5)      I would consider myself an open person. I am most willing to share my thoughts and opinions but as far as my personality I tend to sway between introversion and extroversion. There are days where I enjoy not
speaking to anyone for hours and there are those which I make it my goal to meet 5 new people today.

6)      I have read approximately 300 (estimate) blogs since I have committed to going on the race this past summer. I find great encouragement in this unbearably yet enjoyable build up to launch.

7)      I run track at College and take pride in working out so I do hope my team has an athletic spirit.

8)      I climbed Middle Teton (12,800ft) with a coworker this last summer and it was the most amazing voyage of recent memory.

9)      I worked for the Yellowstone Youth Conservation Corps this past summer and had the best job ever! I got to take amazing youth from all over the country backpacking and hiking.

10)   I consider myself somewhat of a green person. I do not like it when people don’t recycle, litter, leave lights on, or leave the water running although I am by no means perfect in these aspects.

11)   My mother passed away from melanoma when I was 11 years old and I consider it a defining moment with my walk with the Lord.

12)   I have a tattoo over my heart as a memorial to my mother. It is an angel with a cross with mom written in the center.

13)   I am the youngest of 7 but all of my siblings are either half, step, or in-laws

14)   I was an uncle at the age 4

15)   My oldest nephew is autistic and growing up with him as a playmate made me appreciate and love people of all abilities.

16)   My parents will be closing in on 60 pretty soon and sometimes I wished they were able to play with my more when I was younger.

17)   I taught myself how to ride a bike. This entailed a lot of practicing in the garage when my parents were not home with the door shut as I was too embarrassed to let anyone see a teenager not know how to ride a bike.

18)   I tend to at times get flustered when called out for something but usually calm myself and process the critique.

19)   I cannot remember a day when I have not laughed or smiled.

20)   I consider my first girlfriend’s family my own. They have supported me throughout my life and I will never be able to thank them enough.

21)   I had around 3 dogs, 3 cats, a lizard, snake, and 2 gerbils growing up.

22)   My friends and I loved living on a cul-de-sac growing up. I would stay out and play made up games with my friends until it was dark outside.

23)   I was fueled on t bone steaks, McDonalds, hotdogs, lays, gushers, and sunny D as a kid.

24)   I have never broken a bone but most of the scars on my body are from roller blading.

25)   If I had to pick one toy for my childhood it would be a toss-up between Pokémon for Gameboy and Legos.

26)   I have not stayed in meaningful contact with too many of my friends from high school and I often wonder how things will turn out with my college friends.

27)   The most exciting thing I am looking forward to on the race is learning to live in real community with people who love the lord and love me for all I am.

28)   I have been to Brazil on a 6 week study abroad term but aside from my broken Portuguese and Spanish I have no other language experience.

29)   My father and I bonded over sports and I hope one day to give back to the community as he does as a coach and mentor.

30)   I remember every emotion and detail of the day I found out my mother had cancer. I hope to have memories that are as engrained on the race..Let’s hope they are moments glorifying our Lord and Savior.

31)   I was baptized at age 11..My life as a born again believer has been far from perfect but I know that the Lord is not done with me yet.

32)   I love asking people what is on their mind or how their day was..Who knows if anyone had the presence of mind to ask them that day.

33)   Although those who know me know that I am not destined to win any Grammy’s anytime soon I do love singing and often blurt out in random songs throughout the day.

34)   Listening to K-Love has changed my demeanor.

35)   “Blessings” by Laura Story reminds me of my mother and has made me cry while driving and listening to the song.

36)   “Everything happens for a reason” is how I would summarize my outlook on life. The Lord has led me and gave me the freedom to discover just how badly I want to make him the sovereign guide of my life.

37)   Lamentations 3:19-27, and Romans 8 are my go to passages when I need to plug into the Lord’s word.

38)   I love watching movies, playing board games, learning new things, and being inspired by other Christians

39)   I add a lot of spices to my food, sometimes I think I built up a tolerance

40)   After watching a video in biology about tapeworms I was convinced that was the reason I ate so much
