Welcome to my first Blog for the World Race! While I spent some time away before I wrote my first blog I thought about what I was going to write about. I thought about making my first blog my sponsorship letter, I thought about making a Vlog but none of that really made any sense to me. Then in a still small voice I heard the word GO.
Every day I wake up and in my spirit I keep hearing God say “GO”! It takes me back to a scripture that says:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
I want to take a few moments to encourage you and then tell you about The World Race. What is your passion? What on earth are you here for? What drives you? Inside each and every one of us is a passion, a calling that only our individual self can do. Something inside of us is yelling GO! is it to go to grad school? is it to open your own business? Is it to start your own ministry? YOU have a purpose!! YES YOU!! God has a perfect plan set in your life.
In the scripture it says the harvest is plenty but the labors are few (Mathew 9:37). There is great need for the purpose God has placed in you. God is calling you to be greater, to do great, and to accept greater. Whatever God has placed in you I declare he is bringing it out of you to further his kingdom and NO devil in Hell can stop it! Will you accept that challenge? If you do then expect to be brought out of your comfort zone. Expect people to disappoint you. Expect to disappoint people. Expect to grow. Expect to let go. Expect to be put in situations that will cause you to see personal character traits that you thought were already dealt with. Expect to sacrifice. Expect to change old habits. Expect to gain new habits. Expect to lose and gain friends. Expect to fight temptation. Expect to swallow your pride and having to admit and face your flaws. Most of all expect to be in awe that God still wants to use someone as messed up as you are. Why do I say this? Because this is currently me. I have said yes to my personal “GO” and now God is revealing all of this to me. However I am still in awe he has chosen me for the World Race!
While signing up for a mission’s trip with Adventures in Missions I noticed this mission’s trip called the The World Race. I read about the race and fell in love with it. However due to my present job and other obligations I felt as if New York is where God wanted me to be. Over the next week I was accepted to do my one week missions trip but did not feel satisfied. My heart was now with the World Race. I could not stop thinking about it. I decided to just step out in faith and apply. I said a prayer to God that if this is where he was calling me then I would be accepted and he would provide the Money for me to go. Guess what? I was accepted! I will be giving up all of my comfort that America has given me accepting my personal “GO” and leaving sometime in January 2017 to travel the nations.
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. I will be traveling to India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa. One of the unique things about the World Race is that not only will I be preaching but also serving and outreach in other areas such as human trafficking, refugees leaving Syria, teaching English, Vacation Bible School, construction and painting, feeding the hungry, praying for the sick, and a host of other ministry programs. This opportunity is what those people who spoke into my life years ago saw me doing. I have said Yes Lord I will “GO”.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
