So after spending a week in Morogoro Tanzania, both of
our teams took off to the bush and spent 9 days sleeping in our tents going to
3 different villages with each one being completely different from the
other. The first village we went door to
door in the morning evangelizing and then in the early evening having a service
where we would preach and give testimonies and worship. This was our schedule for the first 3
days. Upon leaving that village we were
given 4 guinea hens as a blessing to us, we still had 2 more villages to go to
so what were we going to do with 4 hens, but we took them anyways to honor
those who gave them.
The second village was similar to the first but broke
into 2 groups, one went door to door and the other played with the thousands of
children that watched our every move. We
also took a Sabbath in that village and a small group of us went hiking to the
near by mountain which was absolutely breath-taking. The last village was way out in the country
and when we say bush…we mean bush!! We
would actually do a service in the morning and then in the afternoon go door to
door or have a childrens program. What
was cool about our last day was that we organized a futebol or “soccer” game
for the village and just by chance they had a legit team with real
jerseys. It turns out that I am a bit
out of shape to be playing a full game at center mid-field but fortunately it
was just us 3 white people and 8 Tanzanians who love to run, on my team and we
actually won 2-1. Nonetheless it was a tiring 9 days and when we got back we
were exhausted not to mention a bit sick, I believe out of 14 people 8-9 people
came back with worms or malaria or typhoid or something of that sort. Below are some pictures from each village.
