This week has been such an incredible week. It has been totally different from anything
else we have done so far this month. As I
have said before we have been on a farm, clearing a lot of land with machetes
in preparation for the youth to arrive this coming January but this week we
went out to the surrounding towns/villages and shared the gospel through skit,
songs and games; as well as gave presents to every single child that was
there.
Prior
to this week we had been preparing our dramas and getting everything set but
one of the biggest concerns was our mode of transportation and having sound
equipment for our dramas as it would be impossible to project our voices over
hundreds of kids and their parents as well. God who is totally AMAZING, knew our need and knew that we didn’t have
much money to spend on such things; complete blew us away this last Sunday
evening when we received the good news. The good news being that a contact and ministry partner of our contact
knew what we were doing and said they would pay half of the expenses which turned
out to be a little over $500 for the sound and transportation for this
week. What an awesome God who gives and
exceeds more than we can expect.
So with
transportation and sound covered, we were good to go. Throughout this week we have been to 6
parties and have shared the gospel with well over 2000 people. At the end of each drama we extended the
invite to everyone to accept Christ into their hearts and make Him Lord of
their lives. This is all exciting but I have
had some reservations about the way they have gone about it.
They have everyone stand up and
repeat after them the prayer of salvation. Now I know Christ can work in all things but to think that everyone who
said that prayer truly said it in their hearts, makes me a little
skeptical. Now like I said, Christ works
in all things and if anything else this planted seeds for others to come in
down the road and reap the harvest but nonetheless it was a struggle for me,
having to witness every time we shared the gospel the way they went about
offering the invitation and not having any sort of support for those who did
accept the gospel message. I have to
pray and just trust Christ to continue the work He is doing and allow that to
be that.
As far as me being Jesus, I did get
to play Him in the skit, in lue of me being the closest looking like Jesus with
my beard and long hair. At the end of
the drama, I would stand in front of all the kids and people from the skit would
come in front of me and bow. As I would stand up there smiling at the kids, my
prayer would be that these kids would come to truly see the real RISEN LORD and
to KNOW and EXPERIENCE His true GRACE and MERCY and LOVE. I would pray that they would not see me at
all but they would actually see Jesus Christ Himself. I prayed that not only the kids would see
this but their parents as well would come to know this ENDLESS LOVE of
Christ. Standing in front of those kids
and seeing their faces and praying over them could have been the best gift I receive
this season. Thank You Lord, for your
Faithfulness and your Love for me. Amen.
