Perhaps you have already seen this
notice if you follow me on Facebook but this past Monday was my first official
work day at Adventures In Missions.  The
work day started off getting a free breakfast catered into the office followed
by an all staff worship time.  It was an
incredible experience to come together as an office to worship together and
start the work week off together worshiping the Lord.  As I was worshiping, I felt the Lord place
this vision upon me.

I was looking outside the window
and saw all the red Georgia earth and God brought to mind the image of the
Terracotta Army (the life size clay sculpted Chinese Army).  I didn’t quite understand what the picture
was for.  Then He gave me a picture of
the wind. So now I have a dichotomy of pictures I am thinking about, life sized
Clay Army and the wind…what do I do with that God.

In His good grace and mercy I
believe that He was giving me a picture of where some people are in their
spiritual walk and specifically where people are at on the squad that I will be
leading.  The Terracotta Army was made
with the intent to protect the Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife.  Much like this lifeless army, there are
Christians who call themselves followers of Christ but are in every since
lifeless.  They are physically present in
this world but have no movement, no expressions, and no real life in themselves
just like the presence of this clay army.

The wind as we know has no physical body, but its presence
goes without saying as we see interact with us on a nice warm summers eve or
even to the extreme of tornados and hurricanes. It’s swift, it’s changing and
can’t be harnessed.  I know a few people
like this and have been one myself.  Here
one moment gone the next, not sure footed, ideas constantly changing,
etc….  These people feel free but
sometimes miss out on true life and community.
They don’t know the discipline of commitment and the freedom that that
actually brings.

Here is what I see happening, God is wanting to bring us
back to the Garden.  He is reconciling us
to Himself, as it was before the Fall of
Humanity.  He is giving us a new
body and new life.  He wanting to take
the lifeless, motionless, emotionless bodies and breathe the Holy Spirit into
us and give us life. Not just life but LIFE to the FULLEST.  He transforms the clay and the wind to His
Image and creates this new Life for us.
For the lifeless clay out there it looks like brokenness in the heart
for the things that break His heart.  For
the inconsistent wind it looks like being rooted by streams of living water and
being set upon Christ the Rock of our souls.

My question to you and myself is where are you today?

Are you rigid and emotionless and without life?

Are you casually floating through life hoping to grab on to
the next “solid”
thing?

Or Are you feeling alive and loved and free?
