Every person I run into that has seen or heard that I am going on the World Race has been so excited for me and I can’t even begin to show how grateful I am for that excitement and support. Then without fail, the conversation turns to “Do you think you are going to be able to raise that much money?” This is my favorite question.
My mind used to race when I heard that question. Recently though, I find myself not hesitant to answer it at all. The answer is YES. Yes, I will raise this money because I KNOW this is where the Lord wants me to be. This is a season of preparation. Preparation for my heart, my immune system (haha), my faith, and my financial needs.
I have been praying for guidance and trust in this financial situation. I stumbled upon Acts the other day and found this:
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
I was able to pray over the continuous giving that YOUR GIFT will allow me to do for a year in the field. Someone said to me the other day that they were surprised I was going to take a year off of working to go do missions. I rested on that comment and came to this conclusion: I will be able to give out all my heart and soul to Jesus and His people out in the field and that is all I have ever wanted and could ever ask for. Yes, I could do this in my own country and my own backyard. I 100% agree and I 100% do. However, I want to share my calling with you (message me on Facebook or Instagram if you would like) on why I feel called to go overseas to do this. Some people are gifted with reaching the ends of the earth by going to other nations and others have that calling to stay in one destination to reach the ends of the earth.
I used to doubt God when it came to money. But there is this voice that tells me daily to be patient and learn throughout this fundraising process. I will NOT doubt our Lord another day of my life. And if I do, I will turn straight to the Bible and Him to help guide me through it.
Pray for our countries we will reach, pray for our team, and pray for me.
