Uganda!

Living in Asia for 6 months and then stepping off the airplane in Africa is a huge shock to the system.  At the same time I must admit it is wonderful being here in Uganda!  The people are absolutely gorgeous and are filled with such spirit.

When first arriving here our squad went to debrief at a camp called Adrift.  Debrief happens every several months, and during debrief all 50 of us relax, rest, fellowship and have tons of fun together.  At the Adrift camp several of us signed our lives away as we paid to go whitewater rafting on the Nile River!   I have been rafting before in Colorado, Tennessee, and Kenya, but those rapids paled in comparison to the ones on the Nile.

We flipped so many times and were thrust underwater by the strong currents (Praise God for lifejackets!)  Not only were the rapids crazy, but the scenery all along the river was breathtaking!  I have never seen such a huge sky in my life!  The sky was so vast that you could see storms way off in the distance in all directions while being under clear blue skies yourself.  Simply astonishing

After relaxing for several days my team and I have arrived at our ministry location in Mukono, Uganda.  We are living with Pastor Joseph and his wife Freeda.  Our living conditions are honestly some of the best we have had on the Race, which is very surprising.

While here it appears that we will be doing several things, but the main focus is to help empower and love the Church of believers while here.  We will be leading Bible Studies, sharing testimonies, loving on and playing with Children, doing some construction work, and more.   One shouldn’t forget that we will also be sharing the beautiful news of Jesus Christ with the surrounding community through several means.

All in all, Uganda is filled with beautiful people!  They have much honor, respect, love, and compassion for all.  Joseph and Freeda are some of the most generous givers I have ever met.  They understand the authority that has been given to them in Christ Jesus, and this is evident with how they serve all and not rule all.  I believe I will learn just as much from these beautiful people as they will learn from me.  It is a blessing to be here, thank you all for your support.

In Christ’s Love,
