Free day! Today is free day!
What is free day you ask? Well, it is a day when I get to relax and abide in God while fellowshipping with my team.
Think of it like a Sabbath day.
I woke up this morning and felt like God was saying, “Hey, walk down to the river and abide in me. Sit with me and let’s talk. Meditate on my word, absorb my light so that the darkness may disappear. Be still and listen, for I am God.”
Then peace just rolled over me and I was thinking to myself, “Yeah! That river is beautiful. It may be a long walk, but I feel peace about my journey there.”
So I started walking down the busy streets of Cambodia just praying and listening to God. Asking if he wanted me to do anything as I walked this walk to the river. And then I felt this urge, this urge to put in my i-pod and tone out the world, to be and walk out worship. So I started listening to Will Regan and United Pursuit.
I was walking to this amazing worship music and felt God saying, “Sing it out loud for all to here! Let them know that I am their God, their love!”
Okay….so I started humming. Very very quietly. And with that hum came an uncomfortable joy. I was uncomfortable because I knew there was so much more joy to be had and I desired it more than anything else! So I started to sing quietly, then a bit louder, and louder, and louder!
I have a terrible voice, but I was just worshiping and singing to my king as I walked down the streets! People looked at me, smiled, and laughed! Kids followed me as if they desired the joy just emitting from me! I got to pray over and bless random children as I walked down the street! You know, parents brought their children to Jesus not so he would play with them or even teach them, but so he would lay his hands on them and bless them (Mark 10:13-16).
I could feel, sense, and see Jesus walking with me down the street saying to every passing person, “I love you. My greatest delight would be to forgive you and give you good things. You have beautiful qualities still in the bud that I would unfold if only you would say yes. I’d love to rule your life if you’ll let me.”
I truly don’t know what to say other than worshiping with every step made the destination that much sweeter.
The love and grace of God knows no bounds, and His spirit is limitless for those who are His children. Do not be afraid to express the love of God in every action, walk in authority and know He answers, listen to Him for He speaks, and then do what He says. You do not have to be a spiritual giant to hear the voice of God, “for blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 5:3) Be the light…be worship.
Here is some Will Reagan and United Pursuit for those of you who don't know them, and so you know what I sang.
