April Newsletter
Hello All! Welcome to the April Newsletter. I wanted
to send a quick update informing everyone where my life and support is.
I currently am a substitute teacher in Marshall, TX full-time and work at H.E.B. part-time. I work everyday
except Sundays and work on trip preparations in the afternoons. I have tons
going on with the trip involving: sending support letters by mail, updating my
blog, reading others’ blogs, organizing fundraisers, preparing for training camp
in May, and so much more. Today, I went to get my first round of
vaccinations which was only one shot but I will be returning for 8 to 10 more altogether. Yikes! They will cost around $1000 from the information I was given. I also bought the guitar I will be carrying around the world. Extremely excited about it! I get to pick it up in a few days!
I would like to share with you briefly where my
support status is. I have $550 in my account with $300 pledged totaling $850.
Praise God I have this much already! But I still have a long road to $20,000 (my
estimated mark to cover all expenses). I pray you still consider joining me on
my journey to save souls around the world. I know support will be there in full
when the time comes, but I would like to inform you of my deadlines that must be
on time. I am still close to schedule but the numbers will hit hard soon. (These amounts must be in my account to remain eligible for the trip.)
Deadline Schedule:
April $1,000
May ending $5,600
June ending $6,900
July ending $8,280
(The remaining amount must be pledged or donated ending July to be
allowed departure in August, $5,520)
Fundraisers will begin soon and I will post them in advance
on my blog. If you would like to know where and when I will be at churches
to speak and sing, keep checking my blog for a Topic titled “Fundraising: Events
and Dates.” If any church would like me to visit, I would be grateful for the opportunity. I may need help with these events and if willing please contact me
as soon as possible. Fundraisers are focused on paying for any expenses not involving travel, food, and lodging included within the $13,800 above. I have estimated $6,000 to cover vaccinations, gear (hiking bag, sleeping pad, tent, etc.), plane tickets, and many others. This amount’s deadline is at my discretion but I believe having it all by the end of June will be sufficient time for purchasing all gear needed. Thank you so much to all who have helped thus far.
