Over the last month I’ve been on the road visiting friends and saying goodbye for the year. Constantly traveling, sleeping on couches, in a tent, hitchhiking and sometimes being totally alone has begun to ground me in a new fresh attitude. I’m more aware of my behavior, more grateful to others and I’m seeking out new friends in unexpected people, like old ladies at the buss stop and the homeless.
I have not seeked out God as much as I had hoped, but I have connected to people and have had some really great, long and vulnerable spiritual conversations with complete strangers. Even if I’m unable to connect to God directly, at least I can connect to others through talking about God. Overall I believe I’m in a good place to start the word race.
Last weekend our entire squad of 44 gathered in Atlanta for launch and left for India early Tuesday morning. We all travel to India together, as our squad will always travel between countries together, and then my team of 7 will branch off to Kolhapur to serve for 10 days at a hospital and then 10 days at an orphanage.
I’m ready to embody change within my own character. And I plan on changing my character by first changing my attitude and actions. PRAYER REQUEST: to prioritize others before my self and work on having humble mindset. The goal here is to become more of what the bible describes as a Godly man, and through that maybe I can learn something about God.
As an adventurous side, we are currently in New Delhi although we were supposed to be in Bangalore yesterday. Our plane made an emergency landing in Oslo for a passenger with heart problems and we ended up spending 19 hours total on the plane. Hopefully we’ll catch a plane today to then catch our 12 hour overnight buss tonight. My journey has begun.
