I’ve  always loved the window seat on a plane, in a car, on a train, etc. Wherever I’m traveling, I want to see it all. As I sit on this plane back to NC, in my window seat, I’m thinking “the next time I’m on a plane I’ll be on my way to Ecuador, beginning my World Race.

I decided to take a trip to Germany to surprise my old friends for their graduation. I’ve taken this trip, with my family many times,  it this would be my first time alone. Unfortunately the trip home was a little more stressful. With only a 1hr50min layover in Atlanta, I knew I needed to move quickly through customs and security, but then my flight from Zürich to Atlanta was LATE. As I sat on the plane, anxiously waiting to touchdown in Atlanta, I was praying for peace and a speedy trip through the airport. Here’s how the rest of that transit went.

-3:30pm touch down (next flight is at 4:30)

-3:45 off the plane

-3:53 Mobile Pass App got me through customs super fast (100% RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE TRAVELING)

-3:59 standing in line for security

-4:07 on a train from E gates to A gates

-4:12 made it to A gates (mine was one of the furthest from the train stop)

-4:15 running down the hall to A5

-4:18 check in and board plane

I made it! With 12 minutes to spare!

So as I sit on this plane, looking out from my window seat, I’m thanking God for a strong body, many years of travel experience, kind and helpful airport workers, and for the chance to explore this beautiful world He’s created. I’m also thanking Him that next time I’ll be doing this, I’ll have some friends to do it with.

So the next time you’re in a window seat, looking outside, pray for safe travels and enjoy the view.
