I woke up this morning to some disheartening news, I didn’t make it off the waitlist for Route 4 and I would be moving to Route 6. That meant no more Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, and Swaziland. Instead I will be going to Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, and Cambodia. At first I felt shocked, sad, frustrated, and confused; in all honesty I’m still feeling some of that, but I know that this is where I’m meant to go if God is sending me there.
During this big change, I’m striving to have obedience like Esther did. Although it was not in her plan to become queen and overthrow an official of the king (her husband) in order to save her people, she followed God’s calling every step of the way. She wasn’t fearful because she trusted in God’s plan for her, and she succeeded because she didn’t lose faith in Him. Although it was not my plan to be on Route 6, I have to trust that God will use me wherever He sends me.
Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I ave for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This verse reminds me that not matter what twists and turns I face along my path of life, God has plans for me, and will use me in order to further His kingdom.
So please, continue to pray for my Gap Year, for God to use me, and for continued peace leading up to this next chapter in my life!
Much love,
G
