Gloria is a woman who lives in the village where we do ministry. She has 3 beautiful kids named Jasmine, Diego, and William, and owns a tienda (mini store). Her front yard is filled with coffee plants and her home is filled with the joy of the Lord. Gloria has also had blood cancer for the last 2 years.
Despite her condition, she has an overwhelming amount of faith in the plans the Lord has for her. She has confidence that the Lord will use her illness to bring her family together and bring them closer to Him. Every day she strives to work hard, love her family well, and bring the presence of the Lord into her house and her life.
Some days are good and some days are hard, but she never ceases to show us hospitality and let us help where she needs it.
THATS VULNERABLE!
Asking for help is one thing, but allowing people to help you, wether you ask or not, is something completely different.
Last week, spending time with and helping Gloria looked like getting muddy and picking coffee beans with her, her brother, and her kids for an hour. Today it looked like cooking her and her kids lunch during our lunch break. We visited her thinking we would only have a conversation and pray for her, but when we learned she wasn’t feeling well, we stepped in to cook and play with the kids.
Recently, I’ve learned a lot about hearing the voice of God. But what is hearing Him without obeying Him? Obeying what He asks of us is the ultimate form of worship and brings Him GLORY! Gloria’s daily dependence and trust in Him brings GLORY to His name!
Although Gloria has blood cancer she never ceases to bring GLORY to God!
She inspires me in every encounter we’ve had. Her faith astounds me. Her love moves me. Her hospitality makes me feel welcomed and wanted.
Lord, thank you for Gloria and the blessing she is to everyone she encounters.
I would love if you would join me in praying for Gloria and her blood cancer. She recently has some tests done, and I’m praying hard for only good results.
