Welcome to my humble home! I’ve talked a lot about the crazy things God has done through my time with Gap Year, but what do I actually do each day? In this blog I’m going to walk you through all that my squad and I do on an average day.

Today is Monday, September 21st. I woke up around 7 am, excited to notice that it’s not too humid out. That’s important, because today is laundry day! I get ready inside my tent, and then our squad walks down for breakfast. We drop off our phones for the day, and then eat and commune together until 9. Afterwards we have devotionals for an hour in our beautiful outdoor eating pavilion. I normally love getting this time in the Lord’s creation, but today is cold, so we all bundle up as much as possible!
Next we go straight to our meeting point for the morning sermon! Today our leader Kate talked about Holy Spirit, and how we can build up the church through the gifts He brings us. I really love this time, because I learn so much about the Father, and there’s so many opportunities to grow in relationship with Him.

Afterwards we have lunch, and then go into a meeting with our worship team. For the next 4 weeks we have the opportunity to meet with Erika, a lead worshipper who is on staff with AIM. Her talk really stretched my idea of worship. I learned that we can worship in all that we do, because the true Hebrew meaning of the word is contributing worth to something. I’m trying to live that out by bringing glory to the Father in all that I do.
I then go over to our laundry station, hoping that there’s enough space left on the lines! It has been so fun learning how to bucket wash, and the whole process of cleaning is really relaxing. Next up, around 3 pm, I have free time. We all use this time to play games, go on walks, or get some much needed rest:)
After dinner we head up to our squad meeting point, and have team time! On Mondays we discuss a video from the Bible Project. Right now we are going through the New Testament! After our talk we all hang out until quiet hours. Today we played a scary game of tag in the dark, and then all squads head up to our tents at 10 pm.
That’s my day in the life of a World Racer! I’m so grateful that you all get to experience it with me. Come back soon for more exciting stuff (including our trip to Louisiana)!
