Hi friends! I’ve been accepted onto the World Race Gap Year and will be going out & into the world this fall (September 2020) to spread the good news of Jesus! I’ll be spending nine months in four different countries – Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Nepal. I honestly don’t think it’s possible to be more excited than I am right now. I’d love to use this blog as a creative outlet and life update system for you all while I’m on the Race, so I’ll start by sharing a few things about myself.
I’m 18 years old and am currently in the last weeks of my senior year in high school. I’ve lived in Gainesville, Florida for pretty much all my life although most of my family is from Wisconsin (Go Pack Go). I am the youngest of 3 siblings, with two older brothers who are some of the coolest peeps I know.
I adore anything to do with music. I’ve been in band at school for the last seven years of my life and I play a whole bunch of random instruments! My section in band was percussion so I have a handful of knowledge regarding how to play percussion instruments – did you know playing the triangle requires a specific technique? I also play guitar, ukulele, piano, and as of recently, the harmonica. I love spending time outdoors and explorin’ around my town. Whether it’s discovering new local trails, catching a sunset with my pals, or swayin’ between some trees in my hammock, I’m all for it.
Some fun facts for ya:
1. My favorite colors are forest green, pale peach, orange, and yellow.
2. I’m an Enneagram type 7 and an ENTP on the Myers Briggs test.
3. People call me by nicknames more frequently than they call me Grace. Most of them are based off of my last name (Schuppie, sounds like shoe-pee) like Schupperstar, Schupp, Schupdawoop, Chicken Noodle Schupp, and Schnoop dog.
4. One of my favorite hobbies is making Spotify playlists
5. Before deciding on the World Race I planned on attending college and majoring in Economics
6. I love taking pictures of things I think are cool
I can’t wait to share my journey with you all! I’m incredibly thankful for all of you and your support throughout this season of life. Stay tuned for more deets and probably a bunch more fun facts.
