God’s not dead. A phrase we commonly hear but do we truly believe the Lord is alive, faithful and just as powerful as He was in Bible times???? I think a huge stronghold that Satan has on North America is the ignorance of the spiritual realm. As Americans we seem to skip past all the parts of the Bible that declare God’s authority. If He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8) then doesn’t He still have authority on earth right now??! If you accepted the Lord as your Savior, you have the Holy Spirit inside of you, you have power and authority to bring healing, if it’s the Lords Will. “He gave them power and authority to drive out demons and to cure diseases, and He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick” (Luke 9:1-2) Here are a couple of stories of how I have seen God’s faithfulness and healing in the past few months:
- On Christmas God gave me a picture of Him and I having a picnic. I pulled a birthday cake out of the basket for Him, my gift to Him on His birthday. Fast forward a couple weeks, I was praying and fasting over my fundraising and God gave me another vision of us in the same place except this time it was my birthday we were celebrating! And for my birthday, He pulled ‘being fully funded’ out of the picnic basket. At first I was hesitant to believe the Lord was actually going to make that happen. Maybe I just thought it would be cool to be fully funded by my birthday… maybe it was just me… WRONG. God told me as soon as I was accepted into the Race, last March, that He would provide the finances for me. $15,800 seemed like an impossible number but it was no biggie for God. When I finally got WiFi a few days after my birthday, I checked my fundraising and HE HAD FULFILLED HIS PROMISE TO ME. He made me fully funded by my birthday! What a cool Father I have.
- Last month all 50 of us decided to cram into our ‘living room’ and worship together. We wanted to focus on praying for healing. Physical, emotional & spiritual healing. The night was full of answered prayers and sitting in awe of a God who is very much still alive. He healed my friend Moriah’s Scoliosis. Her back has been curved in an S shape for 4 years, that night we prayed that she would be healed in the Name of Jesus. And guess what, 5 of her lower vertebrae straightened!!! Her lower back that was visibly curved before is now straight as a pin! Another one of my friends Elena got really sick her sophomore year of high school. It was a long process figuring out what was causing all of her health issues. In short, she found out she was severely gluten intolerant. Eliminating gluten didn’t solve all her problems though, she still dealt with a lot of stomach pain and if she accidentally ate a little gluten she would be in excruciating discomfort. Since we know our God loves to restore people, we prayed for complete healing… She is now eating all the bread she could ever dream of. She is no longer sick and because of her faith she has been healed.
- My junior year of high school 6 suicides happened in my county. I was affected strongly by 2 of my close friends taking their own lives. Since I’ve been learning so much about God’s faithfulness I asked Him where He was when I was in so much pain. I knew in my head that He never left my side but I didn’t feel loved in all the sorrow. He immediately showed me a picture of specific scenarios where I was crying, heart-broken, mourning my friends and everyone who was affected. God showed me that in each of those situations He was in the corner of the room on His knees, sobbing. He never intended for me to be in so much pain. He never intended for His beloved sons to feel so alone that they would take their own lives. Because God allows His children to have free-will, we can make decisions that sometimes negatively affect others. I believe He gave me this vision to ensure me that He really is faithful, He never left my side, He was right there crying with me.
These are just a few of the ways I have seen the Lord work; a few of the ways I’ve seen His power displayed. As Christians, we serve and love the Trinity. Trinity meaning 3 parts, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. I believe it’s important we don’t forget about the Holy Spirit, He is a vital part in our relationship with God. As I continue to walk into a deeper friendship with the Lord, I notice His presence, power and intentionality more each day. I am eager and expectant as I continue sharing my passion for the Holy Spirit with Nicaragua, Costa Rica and back home to America!!!
