Hey there! I wanted to share a little bit of what has been on my heart tonight and just explain a little bit further the reasoning behind my decision to go on the World Race. First, let me start off by saying that God is so amazing and he always wants to embrace his children and share what he has to offer with us. As I was getting ready for bed tonight, I really felt him speaking to me through a worship song that I had on. The song is called “Pieces” by Steffany Gretzinger (if you haven’t listened to this song, I highly recommend it). The chorus of the song says “You don’t give yourself in pieces, you don’t hide yourself to tease us.” This spoke to me so loudly! Our God gives Himself away to us completely and is so open with us. His heart is wide open! We just have to be willing to receive it and when we do…boy are we in for an amazing ride. God’s love is the most pure and sincere thing that we will ever encounter and it is so worth engaging in. He sent his son to die on the cross for us! Sometimes that is so hard to comprehend and it blows my mind that no matter what I do or how far I may stray from God, he will always love me and show his mercy. We are imperfect humans. We are so flawed and we sin every day without even thinking about it. However, our worth to God does not dwindle when we sin. Not one bit! In fact, our sins can be used by God to show us how much we rely on Him in our daily lives and how badly we need him! This ties in to what I was saying about the song I mentioned because God does not look at us when we mess up and decide that he is going to love us less. He also doesn’t save his love for those who do good deeds. He gives his heart FULLY to ALL of us and he always will. We are His children and we are loved and that will never change despite how unworthy we may feel at times. Also, the verse that speaks about how the Lord doesn’t hide himself to tease us is so true. The Lord never intended us to walk through this life alone. He is always by our side and all the battles that we face were already defeated on the cross for us. Sometimes it seems like He is absent when we are so desperate to hear Him speak to us; however, he is always on the move working on our behalf. I believe that often times, the Lord doesn’t immediately answer our prayers when we cry out to him because he wants us to learn to trust his timing and that his plan is always the best plan. It is up to us to use the hard times in our lives to grow in our faith and lean on the Lord even more than we thought we already were. Our God is such an amazing father and I believe that he has called me to share more about Him. I can’t wait to share his word with people and see how he changes their lives just as he has mine!!
