Life here is simple. I wake up with one goal in mind everyday-grow in my relationship with God. My biggest worry is if it will rain on laundry day. I get to live life with like minded people all chasing after Jesus. Thanks God!
We received the most amazing news a couple days ago, and I have just been itching to tell y’all. WE ARE GOING TO LOUISIANA THIS COMING MONTH!! We are partnering with Samaritan’s Purse and doing ministry through hurricane relief. AHH YAY! Please keep my squad and I in your prayers as we pile into a van and drive down to the great state of Louisiana in October! We have been constantly praying for this, so thanks God!!
Being able to leave before January in a post Covid world is an example of a giant World Race victory, but this past week has been filled with victories across the board! For starters, we got to sleep inside!! Just imagine how excitedly we packed up our tents and staked down our rain flys. An all squad sleepover!! We blew up our sleeping pads and all piled into one room. Ahh to wake up and not walk a mile to the porta-john! It was a dream! Another example would be ICE! After a team building exercise our leader surprised us with filling up our waters with TAP WATER and ICE! It’s the little things that make life here so sweet.
This past week we had some of my favorite lessons ever. Forgiveness was a main focus and it was so refreshing to spend such intentional time with the Lord. Forgiveness to others as well as ourselves. The difference between conviction and shame was also a focal point as well. We are learning to become spiritually healthy and what a Christ-like community looks like. Ugh it’s just all so good. Ask me about it sometime!!
Friday we did have an intensive lesson on fundraising and I actually learned a lot. I have a lot of pride when it comes to fundraising and often find it hard to humble myself and ask for support. I would rather pay everything myself, but we learned that supporters are not paying for ME-but for God’s work. We dove deep into scripture and studied how Jesus himself received money for His ministry. In Luke 8:1-3; He is traveling with the disciples and they were provided for on their journey. Also in Matthew 10:10 it states that “the laborer deserves his food” we are God’s hands and feet doing His work-all will be provided for.
With that being said…. I have t-shirts for sale!! I know they are more on the girlie side but-maybe buy one for your mom!! Ever since I began this journey I have loved the word “beloved.” I am God’s beloved child and slowly but surely realizing my worth in Him. Also in the New Testament it is often used to address the author’s brothers and sisters in Christ. We are called to love each other as Christ does. Ugh, I just love the word. https://www.bonfire.com/beloved160/
With love,Grace
P.S.- listen to Mercy by Chris Renzema!!!
