I was with my team of six girls and we were labeled the creative group this week. Creative ministry.. bet you’re wondering what in the world that looks like… I was too!
We were working with Jamie for the week. Let me tell y’all about Jamie. She is the coolest person ever!! Basically she worked 10 years as a dance instructor in the States until two years ago she up and left everything to live a life of full time missions here in the DR.
Basically in Dominican culture dance is huge. Like so big that church services don’t have worship without some form of dance performance. So Jamie has her own creative ministry and it’s super super cool. Her dream is to open up a studio here because there are only 3 in the entire country. She wants to provide a safe space in the community and also bring the gospel through that. She works with Hope Mountain as well-which is us.
So she’s teaching us a few skits and this big powerful dance performance to Lauren Daigle’s spanish version of You Say. And let’s just say it’s intense!
Now for those of y’all that do not know me that well, I have two younger sisters and they grew up in dance lessons. I took horse lessons. So… yeah that’s my experience. Jamie is a pro. So you can imagine how our rehearsals go. Though they are very entertaining to the outside viewer. LOL
Anyways we were filmed by Jamie’s husband who is a professional videographer and photographer, so we can send the videos to surrounding churches-so they can use it in their youth services or for whatever they need.
I’m loving life right now and appreciate all of your prayers. There are some people on my squad that are not 100% healthy so y’all can be praying for them! The coolest ministry opportunities ever are here and I’m so so excited for the weeks to come!!
